ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 600 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.\nJob Summary: The Transportation Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the daily transportation needs of children and youth served by the organization and the supervision of the transportation departments.\nEssential Functions:\nThe items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. This is not an exhaustive list of all functions and responsibilities that the position may be required to provide. \nReview and process transportation requests submitted through the agency's transportation portal by assigning drivers based on service needs, geographic location, driver availability, and scheduling efficiency.\nPrioritize transportation requests based on agency guidelines, court orders, appointment times, and operational needs.\nCreate and assign daily transportation routes to drivers, maximizing efficiency while ensuring timely and safe transportation services.\nCoordinate transportation for school, family visitations, medical appointments, court hearings, placement changes, and other agency-approved activities.\nMonitor routes throughout the day and adjust assignments in response to cancellations, emergencies, traffic delays, staffing shortages, or other operational changes.\nIdentify scheduling conflicts or service gaps and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and customer service.\nCommunicate route assignments, schedule changes, and transportation updates to drivers, Transportation Supervisors, case managers, caregivers, schools, and program staff.\nProvide day-to-day operational support and coordination to two Transportation Supervisors to ensure adequate staffing, route coverage, and service delivery.\nMonitor driver availability, attendance, and workload, adjusting as needed to maintain uninterrupted transportation services.\nEnsure all transportation assignments comply with agency policies, child safety standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable regulations.\nMaintain accurate documentation of transportation requests, route assignments, dispatch logs, mileage, cancellations, and completed trips.\nGenerate reports related to transportation requests, route efficiency, service delivery, and operational performance.\nParticipate in emergency transportation planning and after-hours coordination as needed. \nSupervise the two county-based Transportation Supervisors\nEnsure monthly fleet maintenance and inspections are adhered to. \nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nSKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:\nYears of Experience:\nThree (3) years’ experience in transportation dispatching, scheduling, logistics or a related field\nEducation/Licenses/Certifications:\nAssociate Degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration or related field\nBachelor’s Degree preferred\nAbilities Required:\nAbility to make complex decisions and balance the needs of stakeholders involved.\nKnowledge of Microsoft suite programs.\nAbility to manage execution and direct the work of others towards task completion.\nKnowledge of fleet scheduling platforms\nAbility to provide high customer satisfaction with positive service delivery results\nIMPORTANT NOTES:\nChildNet is committed to equal employment opportunity for all applicants without regard to race, sex, age, religion, color, disability, national origin or ancestry, citizenship status, genetic information, marital status, veterans status or military service obligation, medical condition, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression and any other status protected by applicable law.
