This team is responsible for supporting and expanding the largest US national criminal database. This database supports all Checkrs products and clients. Leveraging your deep experience, you will build, coach, and inspire the tech ops team to meet company objectives.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nDrive technical vision for the team that motivates and excites the team for the next chapter\nPartner closely with product management to build new features and enhance existing ones \nWork with the team to reduce technical debt and sustainably scale our architecture\nBuild relationships with cross-functional teams and drive results with them \nNurture and grow team members based on their career aspirations\nHire best of the talent and continue to raise the bar for the team\nRepresent the team in planning and product meetings\nOptimize engineering processes and policies to drive velocity and quality\nWhat you bring\n4+ years as an engineering manager\n8+ years as an engineer\nExceptional verbal and written communication skills\nStrong skills in critical thinking, decision making, problem-solving, and attention to detail\nExperience managing quality incidents as both a technical lead and communication lead\nExperience working on products at scale, and understanding the data, legal, human impact, and technical nuances of supporting highly regulated products\nStrong experience with TDD, pair programming, and agile methodologies\nDeep understanding of service architecture and system design as well as lean software development principles\nAbility to make high-level prioritization decisions quickly and thoughtfully\nBackbone to make tough decisions when necessary\nAble to develop inclusive teams to foster growth and diversity \nReady to mentor the team to grow by providing stretch assignments and opportunities relevant to their interests\nHumility, openness to feedback, and eagerness to learn\nPay Transparency Disclosure\nWe use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
