We are proud to that Christiana Hospital, Wilmington Hospital, our Ambulatory Services, and HomeHealth have all received ANCC Magnet Recognition®.\nPrimary Function:\nChristianaCare is currently seeking a full-time Inpatient Coding Coordinator IV who will beresponsibleforthe timelyand accuratecoding for reimbursementand data collection purposes. Coordinatesdaily responsibilities of coding and support staff.\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:\nTimely prebill review and audit patient medical records (inpatientprimarily) and correctly capture of final DRG for each review.\n\nAnalyze clinicaldata of inpatients, current treatment, past medical history and identifies potential gaps in physician documentation.\n\nAnalyze and report trends for improvement opportunitiesin coding and documentation.\n\nVerifycoding and abstracting accuracy by performing quantities and qualitative reviews.\n\nCommunicate with physicians or other providers to validate diagnoses, clinical indicatorsand appropriately prompts for documentationutilizationAHIMA/ACDIS best practice query principles,if necessary, either verbally or written.\n\nFollow industry best practice coding standards in accordance with CMS, AHIMA, AHA,AAPC,and AMA guidelines.\n\nCreate educational material and educate physicians, coders, and other key healthcare providers regarding clinical documentation improvement and the need for accurate and complete documentation in the health record.\n\nTrain and audit entry level coders or coders who are being trained in a new discipline.\n\nCandidates must meet the following requirements:\nRHIA, RHIT or CCS certification or equivalent certification/degree.\nCollege credits in medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.\nThree years coding experience in a Health Information Management Department or equivalent.\nExperience with implementing and maintaining computer systems.\nChristianacare Offers:\nFull Medical,Dental,Vision,LifeInsurance,etc.\n\n403(b) with company match.\n\nGenerouspaidtimeoff.\n\nIncredible Work/Lifebenefitsincluding annual membership to care.com, access to backup care services for dependents through Care@Work, retirementplanning services, financial coaching,fitness and wellnessreimbursement,and greatdiscountsthrough several vendors for hotels, rental cars, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets and much more!\n\nHourly Pay Range: $33.43 - $53.48This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
