Carpenters are responsible for completing a variety of rough and finish carpentry jobs on construction project sites.\nWhat You Will Do:\nAs a Carpenter, your primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:\nWorks with varied materials including but not limited to wood, plastic, fiberglass or drywall.\nUtilizes tools including but not limited to chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to erect and repair structures.\nUtilizes tools including but not limited to levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure.\nJoins materials with nails, screws, staples or adhesives.\nSafely operates a variety of saws and other carpentry tools.\nChecks work along the way to ensure it meets all code and specification requirements.\nWorks on top of stilts, ladders and the top beams of buildings.\nPerforms the building of handrails, steps, drilling, and patching, light concrete work.\nBuilds stairs, temp doors, ramps, temp walls, etc.\nErects various types of scaffolding including pipe and safety barriers, and make provisions on scaffolding for moving and handling materials needed for the job.\nKeeps immediate working area clean. Must use broom and wheelbarrows and follow material procedures.\nAble to look at flat drawings and understand how they would look as solid objects.\nTravel: Must have reliable transportation. Must be willing to travel 60 miles a day dependent on project location relative to where the employee lives.\nWhat You Will Bring to the Team:\nRequired experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:\nMinimum two years in construction carpentry experience.\nPreferred experience, knowledge, and skills for this role include:\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\nMinimum two years in construction carpentry experience.\nAdditional Eligibility Qualifications\nMust understand safety rules and tool/equipment instructions.\nHave the ability to take measurements and make calculations.\nHave good communication skills both orally and in writing.\nMust pass any skills tests as required by the jobsite.\nAbility to problem solve when errors occur.\nKeep tools and workspace organized.\nMust be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.\nMaintain regular and punctual attendance.\nMust be able to tolerate heights without fear.\nMust have own hand tools, power tools to be provided by Christman.\nThe Christman family of companies is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer that is committed to diversity.
