In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience working on meaningful projects that support our business while developing technical and professional skills alongside experienced mentors and leaders. \n\nThe successful candidate will support the Continuous Improvement team by working with area supervisors, team leads, and operators to improve manufacturing processes and workflow. Key projects will include implementing one-piece flow, developing standardized work for manufacturing cells, and partnering with Additive Manufacturing to support the design of fixtures that improve production processes.\n\nWhy Gear Up?\nAt Chromalloy, interns and co-ops do more than observe. Through Gear Up, you’ll contribute to real projects, collaborate with industry professionals, and gain exposure to the aerospace industry while building skills that prepare you for future career opportunities.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nPartner with Continuous Improvement, area supervisors, team leads, and operators to implement one-piece flow within manufacturing cells.\nDevelop and document standardized work for manufacturing operations.\nCollaborate with Additive Manufacturing to identify opportunities and support the design of fixtures for production areas.\nAssist with mapping value streams and identifying opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and manufacturing processes.\nSupport continuous improvement projects focused on improving manufacturing systems and processes from the customer’s point of view.\nGather input and feedback from employees to help identify improvement opportunities and support implementation of changes.\nParticipate in team meetings, Kaizen events, and other continuous improvement activities.\nSupport 5S and workplace organization initiatives across manufacturing areas.\nHelp monitor improvement activities and project progress.\nPrepare project documentation, analysis, and presentations using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Organizational Development, or a related field.\nCurrently in junior or senior year of undergraduate study.\nInterest in manufacturing, Lean principles, continuous improvement, and problem solving.\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with employees across different functions and levels of the organization.\nStrong written, verbal, and presentation skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively as part of a team.\nStrong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.\nLean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar certification is a plus\n\nWork Environment & Physical Requirements \nThis internship includes hands-on work within a manufacturing environment and regular interaction with employees on the production floor.
