This role works closely with Development, Purchasing, Production, and other cross-functional teams to ensure materials are accurately planned and available according to established production and development timelines.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\nPlan, order, and track raw materials and components required for eyewear frame orders, including plastic/acetate, lenses, hinges, screws, and other subcomponents.\nReview material requirements and inventory positions for samples, first production orders, and reorders.\nPrepare material requirements for Purchasing and support the purchase order process.\nMonitor material orders and follow up with Purchasing and suppliers to ensure materials arrive on time and meet required specifications and dates.\nWork closely with the Development team on material and component selections for new eyewear styles and collections.\nReview material requirements throughout the product development process and ensure they align with development and production schedules.\nDevelop a working knowledge of eyewear construction, including the materials and components required to manufacture frames.\nReview Bills of Materials (BOMs) for accuracy and completeness and flag incorrect, missing, or inconsistent material requirements.\nAssist in troubleshooting material and component issues and work cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies before they impact production.\nMonitor material lead times and identify potential shortages, delays, and supply risks.\nFollow development calendars and key production milestones to ensure materials are ordered within required lead times.\nMaintain accurate material planning, order, and inventory information within applicable systems and tracking tools.\nCommunicate material availability, order status, delays, and potential risks to relevant stakeholders.\nSupport continuous improvement of material planning and tracking processes.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\n1-3 years of experience in material planning, production planning, purchasing coordination, product development, or a related field.\nExperience in eyewear, accessories, apparel, footwear, jewelry, or another physical-product manufacturing environment is a plus.\nStrong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.\nWorking knowledge of BOMs, inventory, purchase orders, material lead times, and production schedules.\nProficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets; experience with ERP, MRP, or product lifecycle management systems is a plus.\nStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.\nAbility to identify potential material issues early, prioritize competing deadlines, and proactively communicate risks.\nAbility and willingness to develop
