At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture.\nSummary\nCHS has an exciting opportunity at our Oil Refinery facility in Laurel, Montana. We are looking for a Process Engineer Intern to provide technical support assistance to refinery Process Engineers for a variety of refinery units in order to achieve optimal performance while meeting company safety, environment, and economic guidelines. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.\nResponsibilities\nAssist with process monitoring, data collection, and routine analysis of refinery operations. \nDevelop and maintain basic material balances, yields, performance calculations, and operating data summaries. \nSupport improvement projects involving safety, reliability, environmental performance, energy efficiency, product yield, and operability. \nParticipate in field data gathering, equipment inspections, and process troubleshooting under engineering supervision. \nAssist with maintaining process safety information, including PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, procedures, and management of change documentation. \nPrepare technical reports, presentations, and project summaries; complete an assigned improvement project and present recommendations. \nMinimum Qualifications (required)\nCompletion of sophomore year leading to a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline. \nCumulative GPA of 2.6 or higher. \nAdditional Qualifications\nCoursework in material and energy balances, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, process calculations, or chemical process fundamentals. \nExposure to engineering software or data tools such as Aspen HYSYS, PIPE-FLO, Python, or similar applications. \nPrevious internship, co-op, research, laboratory, manufacturing, agricultural processing, or industrial experience. \nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to wear personal protective equipment, including respirators.\nCHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions.
