At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture.\nSummary\nCHS has an exciting opportunity in our Transportation division for a Feed Truck Driver. In this role, you will load and unload trucks, independently transport feed to customer locations, provide high-quality customer service, and ensure full compliance with DOT, company, and regulatory requirements. You will exercise sound judgment in route execution and safety decisions and serve as a reliable operational resource within the transportation team. This role will also require light maintenance on equipment, and operations at the plant when driving is slow.\nRoutes are local, and drivers are home each night for supper.\nResponsibilities\nOperate a semi-tractor and trailer (or straight truck) to deliver non-hazardous materials to customer sites across complex or variable routes, ensuring safe and efficient execution\nDrive in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies, using sound judgment regarding route safety, road conditions, and compliance requirements\nProvide professional customer service during pickups and deliveries; communicate clearly, resolve routine issues, and escalate non-routine concerns as appropriate\nConnect and disconnect trailers, and perform product transfer loading and unloading activities in accordance with safety protocols\nComplete required delivery documentation and daily load/unload reports, and maintain accurate electronic logs and onboard computer entries\nPerform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns promptly\nReport accidents, incidents, near misses, and equipment issues; follow required procedures; and model strong safety and compliance behaviors\nProvide informal guidance and support to Associate Drivers as needed regarding routes, equipment operation, and safety practices\nShare operational knowledge and best practices to support team efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction\nMinimum Qualifications (required)\nValid Class A or Class B CDL (as required for the equipment/route)\nHave a minimum of 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience\nMust meet age requirement\nAbility to read, write, and communicate in English\nDemonstrate a strong commitment to safety and compliance, and complete required documentation accurately\nAdditional Qualifications\nDemonstrate the ability to operate independently in a high-skill driving role, including managing complex routes or delivery requirements\nDemonstrated safe-driving performance and ability to make sound safety decisions in changing weather and road conditions\nStrong customer service skills and a history of positive customer feedback\nAbility to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.\nPre-employment screening is based on the job requirements and industry guidelines and may or may not be required for the position.
