At CHS, we are creating connections to empower agriculture.\nSummary\nCHS has an exciting opportunity to participate in a comprehensive development program designed to give an understanding of the operations & engineering processes of our oilseed processing and ethanol production. Over a 24-month timeframe, successful candidates will develop skills and knowledge of our oilseed processing and ethanol processing by rotating through unique, challenging and rewarding experiences at different locations within CHS. Upon successful completion of the program, the Operations Project Engineer will be placed in a full-time position that complements both the needs of the company and the employee’s strengths. Examples include:\nShift Manager\nAssistant Production Manager\nAssistant Maintenance Manager\nPlant Engineer\nProject or Process Engineer\nWillingness to relocate for future growth opportunities and/or business demands is required.\nResponsibilities\nOilseed and Ethanol Operations 8-month rotation (Annawan, Il & Fairmont, MN or Evansville, WI location)\nContribute fully to the day-to-day physical operation of the CHS facility to understand fundamental operations and processes.\nDevelop a thorough understanding of operational processes. \nSupport the facility in prioritizing and optimizing Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)\nSupport and guide plant management with projects, drawing reviews, equipment specifications, operational narrative preparations, and employee training\nLead continuous improvement efforts\nReview of production data routinely to ensure accuracy and to analyze for continuous improvements throughout the facility.\nEngineering 8-month rotation (Annawan, IL) to be completed immediately after operations in Annawan.\nPlan assigned design and/or development projects by preparing engineering documents, calculations, drawings, material lists, construction schedules and operating instructions with emphasis on achieving optimum processing efficiency, reducing energy and material costs, and adhering to safety requirements.\nProvide project management support and supervision to construction crews and organize each step of the construction process.\nCoordinate the communication involving projects with the supervisor, engineering team (Plant, Project, Process and Controls), facility department managers, and outside consulting agencies to maintain understanding of appropriate parties\nThe Operations Project Engineer may for a period be required to travel to other CHS locations for instructional purposes and continued growth and development, including but limited to corporate headquarters in Inver Grove Heights, MN.\nMinimum Qualifications (required)\nBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Agriculture, Chemical, Mechanical, Bioproducts and Biosystems, etc.)\n0-3 years’ experience\nAdditional Qualifications\nDemonstrate and promote safety\nGood problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude\nAbility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change\nExceptional verbal and written communications skills\nMust be well organized, goal orientated, and self-directed\nDemonstrates mechanical and analytical interest with strong problem-solving skills\nCollaborative team player\nWillingness to relocate for future growth opportunities is required\nPhysical Requirements\nBasic understanding of refinery process controls and specific equipment involved in the process control\nDemonstrate and promote safety\nGood problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude\nAbility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity, and change\nExceptional verbal and written communications skills\nMust be well organized, goal orientated, and self-directed\nDemonstrates mechanical and analytical interest with strong problem-solving skills\nCollaborative team player\nWillingness to relocate for future growth opportunities is required\nCHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions.
