This role is ideal for someone who combines hands on engineering depth with broad platform thinking and the ability to influence technical direction across teams.\nIn this role, you will:\nArchitect and implement enterprise scale solutions across Java based platforms, APIs, microservices, cloud services, and data driven systems\nChampion platform centric architecture to improve reuse, extensibility, and speed of delivery\nApply engineering standards and architectural principles across application and platform development\nBuild robust solutions using Java, Spring, Azure, PaaS services, AKS, databases, and related enterprise technologies\nTranslate business and product requirements into maintainable technical designs, integration patterns, and clear documentation\nDevelop and integrate services using REST APIs, messaging, event driven patterns, and downstream system integrations\nEnsure secure design and implementation using authentication, authorization, and API security best practices\nImprove CI/CD pipelines, automation, testing, and release processes to increase delivery efficiency\nMonitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, and provide hands on technical support when needed\nMentor engineers, promote clean code practices, and contribute to continuous improvement across the team\n 10 years of engineering experience across enterprise technology environments including experience in platform, application, and solution delivery\nBachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field\nStrong insurance domain knowledge with the ability to apply business context to technical decisions\nProven ability to shape strategic direction, influence technical standards, and contribute thought leadership across teams\nExperience advising senior leaders on technology roadmaps, platform investments, and modernization priorities\nActive engagement in industry forums, communities, or working groups to stay current on emerging practices and trends\nHands on experience building and supporting full stack applications, with strong knowledge of Java, relational databases such as SQL Server, and caching strategies\nCloud experience, preferably with Azure services such as App Services, Azure SQL, Functions, and Key Vault\nExperience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or similar tools, along with Git and containerization technologies such as Docker\nPrior experience with and/or knowledge of policy administration platforms (Duck Creek, Guidewire, etc.) preferred but not required\nThe pay range for the role is $160,000 to $190,000. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
