This role requires deep industry knowledge, strong analytical skills, and the ability to mentor junior underwriters while driving continuous improvement in underwriting practices.\nDuties may include but are not limited to:\nSolicits new and renewal submissions from brokers\nDetermine terms and conditions and complex rating plans\nWork with actuary, risk engineering, credit management, home-office, etc. to put together a comprehensive program for new and renewal business\nBinds coverage\nDocuments the underwriting files\nHandles files and portfolios within underwriting authority\nComplete self-audits of underwriting files\nPass all self-audits of their own files\n Analyze and underwrite individual construction risks, including practice programs, project covers, and maintenance wraps.\n Develop and maintain pricing models and rate structures for construction lines of business.\n Prepare detailed underwriting submissions, risk assessments, and policy terms.\n Collaborate with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders to gather necessary information and negotiate terms.\n Monitor portfolio performance and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability and loss ratios.\n Ensure compliance with company underwriting guidelines, state regulations, and industry standards.\n Mentor and coach junior underwriters, providing guidance on best practices and technical issues.\n Stay current on construction industry trends, emerging risks, and market conditions.\n Participate in product development and enhancement initiatives for construction insurance offerings.\n Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on underwriting results and risk trends.\n Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field;
