This is an exciting opportunity with a strong focus on new business development in the middle-market / lower middle-market segment. The role combines broad P&C package underwriting with a more specialised focus on PI and Cyber, reflecting the evolving needs of our Technology portfolio.\nWe are happy to consider experienced Senior Underwriters or candidates currently working at Underwriter level. The role can also be based in our Manchester, Birmingham or London office.\nThis role is a key part of Chubb’s growth plans in the UKI and Mid Market space. You will underwrite new and renewal package business, support brokers and clients, and help deliver a high-quality service while developing your technical and broader business skills within this specialist industry practice.\nWhat you will be doing:\nAssist and lead the underwriting and processing of new and renewal business in line with underwriting appetite, authority limits and business plan. \nUnderwrite, quote and convert new P&C package business in the lower middle-market segment. \nWork closely with the team to ensure efficient working practices are in place and followed in line with established package underwriting guidelines. \nSupport the underwriting team and Underwriting Centre through liaison with brokers, clients, internal departments, COG and external advisers. \nMaintain underwriting integrity by working within Chubb’s Code of Conduct, compliance policies, peer review and company protocols. \nContribute to project-based work in line with product development and the promotion of Industry Practices. \nTravel to other Chubb offices within the UK and to brokers across the UK as required. \n Experience in the insurance market, ideally with a background in property and casualty underwriting. \nA strong understanding of Technology-specific exposures, terminology and the evolving segment. \nConfidence working with new business and broker relationships. \nKnowledge and experience in the upper SME / lower middle-market insurance segment.\nResults driven with ability to make own decisions and work on own initiative.\nAbility to adjust to shifting priorities and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment.\nExcellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication.\nCommitment to a high level of underwriting service and speed of response.\nWe offer in return!\nCompetitive salary & pension scheme, discretionary bonus scheme, 25 days annual leave plus ability to purchase 5 additional days, hybrid working options, Private Medical cover, Employee Share Purchase Plan, Life Assurance, Subsidised gym membership, Comprehensive Learning & development offerings, Employee Assistance program.\nIntegrity. client focus. respect. excellence. teamwork\nOur core values dictate how we live and work.
