While we might not be the largest company in our industry, we believe we can have the biggest impact because: Together We Have the Power to Win.\nJob Summary\nChurch & Dwight is seeking an R&D Chemist with formulation experience to support the development, qualification, and launch of new personal care cosmetic and consumer health products, as well as the maintenance and improvement of existing products.\nAbout the Role\nThe Chemist will lead assigned product research and development activities from concept through launch and post-launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the development process. They demonstrate a practical understanding of product development processes, including design, formulation, verification/validation, and commercialization.\nWork Environment\nHybrid: This is a hybrid role based in Princeton, NJ, and requires in-person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.\nRole Accountabilities and Responsibilities\nLead assigned product development activities from concept to launch and post-launch with minimal supervision. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements and execute development plans.\nProvide technical support for: (1) production start-ups and new product launches, (2) existing brand maintenance and improvement, and (3) manufacturing operations to maintain quality and integrity of existing products.\nConduct hands-on formula development, including designing and executing experiments, collecting and analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and making data-based recommendations.\nSupport product claim substantiation by designing and executing product testing in collaboration with internal teams and external laboratories/research partners.\nMonitor competitive intelligence, market trends, and consumer feedback to understand evolving consumer needs and identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement.\nCreate and maintain electronic product specifications, Bundle Books/Design History Files, Product Information Files, and other documentation for new and existing products.\nFollow established quality and regulatory procedures in accordance with applicable U.S./FDA and E.U. regulatory requirements for cosmetics and/or other regulated personal care and consumer health products.\nSkills and Competencies\nAbility to work independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.\nAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with Marketing, Process Development, Packaging, Analytical, Safety, Clinical, Regulatory, and other functions.\nStrong organizational, work planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize activities and work with a supervisor to manage assigned projects.\nAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects and a large workload at times, adapting to changing priorities in a rapidly changing environment.\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nEducation and Experience\nRequired Qualifications:\nThe successful candidate will have a B.S. or M.S. degree from an accredited institution in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related disciplines with 5+ years of industry experience or a Ph.D. with 0 - 3 years of industry experience.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nFormulation expertise in personal care cosmetics or consumer health products, including formula development and optimization.\nExperience with technology scouting, competitive benchmarking, or identifying new ingredients/formulation technologies.\nExperience working within U.S./FDA and E.U. regulatory requirements applicable to cosmetics and/or other regulated personal care and consumer health products.\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $71,000- $101.100. This position is also eligible for a bonus.\nAs a Church & Dwight US employee, you (and eligible dependents, as applicable) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid vacation and sick time, and Paid Parental Leave. U.S. employees are entitled to paid holidays, floating holidays, and vacation days starting in their first year of employment depending on hire date.
