This position will be located in Ewing, New Jersey, on a hybrid basis.\nWork Model: This is a hybrid role, requiring in-person attendance at our Ewing, New Jersey office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.\nThe Corporate Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Specialist will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, safety, and sustainability systems across company operations. This role will partner with site leadership and environmental, health, and safety personnel to implement corporate standards, monitor performance, support incident investigations, conduct audits, provide technical guidance, and promote consistent practices across locations.\nThe position will also serve as the primary environmental, health, and safety resource for the Ewing location, coordinating site-level regulatory compliance, risk-reduction initiatives, training, inspections, industrial hygiene activities, environmental programs, and corrective actions. Under the direction of the Global Manager, Safety Operations, this role will help integrate environmental stewardship, employee safety, and health protection into operational decision-making and continuous improvement.\nRole Accountabilities and Responsibilities\nEwing Site Ownership: Develop, implement, and execute site safety, environmental, and health initiatives, strategies, programs, and procedures through hands-on counsel, assessment, supervision, and implementation.\nPerformance and Program Coordination: Partner with sites to manage environmental, health, safety, and sustainability performance metrics and support consistent execution of corporate programs.\nIncident Investigation: Provide expertise and participate in global incident investigations and root-cause analysis processes.\nAudits and Corrective Actions: Participate in audits and inspections; update and monitor systems; implement and track action plans; benchmark performance; and support audits at other sites.\nProgram Optimization and Training: Drive implementation of best-in-class safety programs, systems, and processes, including training and coaching on environmental, health, and safety measures, hazard recognition, precautions, and compliance requirements.\nTechnology and Administration: Administer and oversee Environmental and Safety Operations accounts payable and purchase order processes, and support specialized systems such as Sphera, Velocity, and ISN.\nTechnical Expertise: Provide functional and technical training, coaching, and guidance in areas including Permit to Work, machine safety, and environmental, health, and safety standards.\nTeam Support: Actively participate on assigned teams and provide backup support to other specialists, generalists, and managers as needed.\nData and Continuous Improvement: Analyze safety conditions, behaviors, and performance data; recommend changes that improve compliance and advance site performance toward world-class levels.\nVendor Management: Identify strategic partnerships and maintain contracts with key safety vendors, including providers of personal protective equipment, industrial hygiene sampling, and hazardous-waste services.\nEnvironmental and Sustainability Programs: Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of corporate sustainability initiatives, objectives, and performance metrics across manufacturing operations through hands-on leadership, coaching, and teamwork.\nCompliance and Regulatory Leadership: Promote excellence in environmental, health, and safety compliance and work practices, maintain a working knowledge of relevant rules and regulations, and assess their impact on company sites.\n Travel and Availability: Maintain flexibility to support a 24/7 operating environment and travel up to 25% of the time, domestically and occasionally internationally.\nEducation and Experience Requirements\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, safety, industrial hygiene, or a related discipline.\n3+ years of experience coordinating safety and health or environmental activities in a manufacturing environment, including industrial hygiene work.\nDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively, collaborate across multiple sites, and lead and coach teams through system implementation and continuous improvement.\nIn-depth knowledge of safety, environmental, and health systems and compliance requirements, including chemical management, confined space, radiation, lasers, hearing conservation, industrial hygiene, Permit to Work, machine safety and lockout/tagout, work at heights, behavior-based safety, personal protective equipment, stormwater, wastewater, spill response, and hazardous waste.\nExcellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and communicate effectively with audiences that have varied backgrounds and levels of technical understanding.\nStrong training and presentation skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office.\nAbility to travel up to 25% of the time, domestically and occasionally internationally.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFive or more years of experience coordinating safety and health or environmental activities in a manufacturing environment, including industrial hygiene work.\nAbility to make well-informed decisions in routine and emergency situations.\nStrong analytical, organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.\nStrong reading comprehension, legal and regulatory interpretation, and technical writing skills for policies, standards, reference materials, and training content.\nKnowledge of specialized safety, environmental, and health systems and compliance areas, including work at heights, confined space, and machine safety.\nExperience with specialized environmental, health, and safety software and systems, such as Sphera, Velocity, and ISN.\nProfessional certification in an environmental, health, or safety field, such as Certified Industrial Hygienist, Associate Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, or Certified Safety Professional.\nCompensation and Benefits\nThe U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $71,000- $101,000. This position is also eligible for a bonus.\nAs a Church & Dwight U.S. employee, you and your eligible dependents, as applicable, will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid vacation and sick time, and Paid Parental Leave. U.S. employees are entitled to paid holidays, floating holidays, and vacation days starting in their first year of employment, depending on hire date.
