You will be responsible for investigating existing data structures, analyzing business logic hidden in queries and reports, mapping source data to target systems, and collaborating with business stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness.This role is highly investigative and requires a blend of technical analysis and business communication skills. You should be comfortable navigating undocumented environments, reverse-engineering logic, and documenting findings clearly for both technical and business audiences.\nKey Responsibilities\nSource System AnalysisInvestigate source systems and databases to understand data structures, relationships, and logic.\nAnalyze existing SQL queries, reports, and stored procedures to reverse engineer business rules.\n\nData Mapping & TransformationMap source fields to target model requirements.\nIdentify gaps, data quality issues, and transformation needs.\nWork closely with data engineers to validate ETL/transformation rules.\n\nStakeholder CollaborationPartner with business SMEs and stakeholders to clarify definitions, logic, and requirements.\nTranslate technical findings into clear documentation for non-technical stakeholders.\n\nDocumentation & Knowledge TransferProduce detailed data dictionaries, mapping documents, and gap analysis reports.\nCapture undocumented business logic and processes uncovered during investigation.\n\nValidation & Testing SupportSupport data validation and reconciliation efforts during development and UAT.\nAssist in resolving discrepancies between source and target systems.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\nStrong SQL skills, with ability to read, analyze, and write complex queries.\nProven experience in data migration, data warehousing, or system integration projects.\nBackground in analyzing large datasets.\nStrong data profiling, mapping, and reconciliation skills.\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities in ambiguous environments.\nStrong communication skills to work with both technical teams and business stakeholders.\nExperience creating data dictionaries, mapping documents, and gap analysis reports.\nExperience with dashboard tools such as Sigma or equivalent\nExperience with code repository systems - Bitbucket or Git\nNice to Have\nExperience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data platforms.\nFamiliarity with ETL/ELT processes and tools.\nExposure to financial services or other regulated industries\nThis opportunity is for an existing vacancy with the company. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $95,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a bonus program.
