This role ensures that client needs are met with the highest quality standards by overseeing all aspects of the testing process, including the design, development, and maintenance of automated test scripts. The incumbent coordinates end-to-end testing, drives continuous improvement, and ensures testing processes comply with organisational and regulatory requirements. The role works closely with project managers, business analysts, developers, quality engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions.\n\nThe candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions: \n\nTesting Expertise: \nDesign, manage, and execute end-to-end test planning activities for various projects, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.\nDevelop and maintain detailed test plans, schedules, and resource allocations.\nOversee development, execution, and maintenance of automated/manual test cases.\nTrack, report, and manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle, ensuring prompt resolution.\nPrepare and present regular status reports, test metrics, and risk assessments to project leadership.\nEnsure all testing activities comply with organisational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.\n\nAutomation Expertise: \nDesign and implement automation strategies, tools, and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.\nIntegrate automated testing scripts and strategies with DevOps tools.\n\nLeadership Skills: \nCoach and mentor testing team members in the business domain, functional testing, automation, and non-functional testing.\nEnsure compliance with CIBC's test methodologies and industry best practices.\nProactively identify potential issues throughout all test phases and suggest improvements.\nIdentify opportunities to enhance testing processes, tools, and methodologies.\n\nProject Coordination: \nCoordinate internal and external testing teams to ensure the timely completion of test phases.\nIdentify and communicate obstacles or risks that may impact project timelines or success.\nMaintain open communication with stakeholders and escalate issues when necessary.\nEnsure test deliverables are completed, approved, and aligned to project goals and budget.\n\nPeople Management: \nSet appropriate context when assigning work to ensure that individuals' roles support the achievement of the business unit's priorities and CIBC's overall goals.\nBuild team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.\nManage performance by providing fair and accurate formal and informal feedback, identifying and removing obstacles to performance, and explaining how performance expectations align with business priorities.\nCreate a positive work environment and be an effective role model by championing CIBC's mission, vision, and values.\nEnsure compliance with policies, standards, and guidelines is adhered to consistently, so employees understand what to expect.\nHire the right people in the right jobs to align individual capabilities with job requirements and business unit goals.\n\nCROSS-FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: \nCollaborates with business stakeholders and technology partners to define and execute testing strategies.\nServes as the primary point of contact for all testing-related communications among project stakeholders.\nCoordinates with internal and external technology and business partners to hire, assess individual performance, make employee compensation decisions, and take disciplinary measures up to and including termination.\n\nJob Dimensions: \nDirectly coordinates testing activities across multiple lines of business.\nOversees testing deliverables for internal staff, other lines of business and external vendors.\nResponsible for ensuring alignment of testing activities with project timelines, budgets, and overall business objectives.\n\nRequirements: \nProven 3+ years of experience in a management role and 5+ years in automation, test coordination and/or equivalent technical roles.\nStrong understanding of the testing life cycle, SDLC, and defect management processes.\nHands-on experience with test automation tools (e. g., Selenium, Robot Framework, Parasoft SOAtest, Postman, Rest Assured, Cucumber).\nWorking experience with Python, Java, and SQL databases.\nStrong leadership, coaching, and mentorship abilities.\nExcellent organisational and time management skills.\nEffective communication skills, able to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.\nCollaborative approach, building trusted relationships with stakeholders.\nCommitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies and industry developments.\nStrong investigative and analytical skills for solving complex problems.\nExperience with test management tools (e. g., JIRA, HP ALM).\n\nGood to have skills: \nAbility to build and maintain automated testing scripts and integrate with DevOps tools.\nGood working knowledge of QE processes and
