10 years of overall experience and at least 7 years of strong hands-on experience in Java Backend Development.\n\nThe ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Core Java 11, Spring Boot, Microservices, Multithreading, Data Structures & Algorithms, Design Patterns, Spring Security, Kafka, JPA/Hibernate, and AWS Cloud services.\n\nThe candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable, secure, and high-performance backend applications.\n\nThis role requires a strong hands-on engineer who can contribute to architecture and technical design, drive development best practices, troubleshoot complex production issues, and mentor other developers.\n\nThe ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Java internals and be comfortable working on distributed systems, concurrent applications, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native backend services.\n\nKey Responsibilities : \n\n- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java 11 and Spring Boot.\n\n- Lead the development of robust, highly available, and performance-oriented microservices.\n\n- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable backend solutions.\n\n- Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions.\n\n- Define and implement appropriate design patterns, coding standards, and development best practices.\n\n- Develop RESTful APIs and backend services for integration with internal and external applications.\n\n- Implement secure APIs and application components using Spring Security.\n\n- Develop and maintain distributed, event-driven services using Apache Kafka.\n\n- Design and implement asynchronous processing and messaging workflows.\n\n- Work with AWS services, including Amazon MSK, Amazon S3, and AWS Lambda.\n\n- Develop and deploy serverless functions using AWS Lambda where appropriate.\n\n- Design applications for scalability, reliability, performance, and fault tolerance.\n\n- Analyze application performance and optimize code, database queries, APIs, and service interactions.\n\n- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across application, database, messaging, and cloud layers.\n\n- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to clean-code and engineering standards.\n\n- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers on Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and software engineering practices.\n\n- Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.\n\n- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, technical discussions, reviews, and retrospectives.\n\n- Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, architecture, and engineering practices.\n\n- Ensure production-ready implementation through appropriate unit testing, integration testing, logging, monitoring, and error handling.\n\nRequired Technical Skills : \n\n- 7+ years of hands-on experience in Java Backend Development.\n\n- Strong proficiency in Core Java 11.\n\n- Strong understanding of Java Collections Framework, Exception Handling, Generics, Streams, Lambda Expressions, Functional Interfaces, and Java 8+ features.\n\n- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles.\n\n- Good understanding of JVM concepts and memory management.\n\n- Strong understanding of Java concurrency and multithreading.\n\n- Strong hands-on understanding of Java Multithreading and Concurrency.\n\n- Experience working with threads, executors, thread pools, synchronization, locks, and concurrent collections.\n\n- Understanding of race conditions, deadlocks, thread safety, and synchronization mechanisms.\n\n- Ability to design high-performance concurrent applications.\n\n- Strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms.\n\n- Hands-on understanding of arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, trees, graphs, hash-based data structures, sorting, searching, and complexity analysis.\n\n- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.\n\n- Ability to select appropriate data structures and algorithms based on application requirements.\n\n- Strong understanding of HashMap internals, including : \n\n1. Hashing mechanism. \n\n2. Hash buckets and indexing. \n\n3. Collision handling. \n\n4. equals() and hashCode() contract. \n\n5. Load factor and capacity. \n\n6. Rehashing/resizing. \n\n7. Collision resolution mechanisms. \n\n8. Performance considerations. \n\n9. Differences between HashMap, ConcurrentHashMap, LinkedHashMap, and other collection implementations.\n\n- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Spring Boot.\n\n- Strong knowledge of Spring Core and dependency injection.\n\n- Experience building production-grade REST APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.\n\n- Strong understanding of Spring configuration, profiles, dependency management, and application lifecycle.\n\n- Experience with Spring Security for authentication and authorization.\n\n- Experience with JAX-RS and RESTful web services.\n\n- Knowledge of service-to-service communication and distributed application design.\n\n- Experience with Hystrix or equivalent circuit-breaker/resilience frameworks.\n\n- Strong hands-on experience designing and developing Microservices Architecture.\n\n- Understanding of service decomposition and bounded contexts.\n\n- Experience with inter-service communication.\n\n- Knowledge of synchronous and asynchronous communication patterns.\n\n- Understanding of service discovery, fault tolerance, resiliency, and scalability.\n\n- Experience handling distributed transactions and failure scenarios.\n\n- Understanding of API versioning and backward compatibility.\n\n- Experience building independently deployable services.\n\n- Strong working knowledge of Apache Kafka.\n\n- Experience developing event-driven applications using Kafka.\n\n- Understanding of producers, consumers, topics, partitions, offsets, and consumer groups.\n\n- Experience designing asynchronous communication between microservices.\n\n- Understanding of Kafka scalability, fault tolerance, and message-processing patterns.\n\n- Exposure to Amazon MSK (Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka) is required.\n\n- Strong experience with Spring Data JPA.\n\n- Strong understanding of Hibernate ORM.\n\n- Experience designing entities, relationships, repositories, and database access layers.\n\n- Knowledge of JPQL, native queries, pagination, sorting, and transaction management.\n\n- Understanding of lazy/eager loading and entity lifecycle.\n\n- Ability to identify and resolve common ORM performance issues such as N+1 queries.\n\n- Strong understanding of database transactions and concurrency.\n\n- Experience developing serverless Lambda functions.\n\n- Understanding of event-driven serverless architecture.\n\n- Ability to integrate Lambda with APIs, messaging systems, storage, and other AWS services.\n\n- Understanding of scalability, execution limits, error handling, and monitoring.\n\n- Experience using S3 for object storage.\n\n- Knowledge of buckets, objects, access policies, lifecycle management, and secure application integration.\n\n- Experience integrating S3 with backend applications and serverless workflows.\n\n- Hands-on exposure to Spring WebFlux.\n\n- Understanding of reactive and non-blocking programming.\n\n- Experience building reactive APIs and services.\n\n- Knowledge of Project Reactor is an advantage.\n\n- Experience using Spring WebClient for asynchronous/non-blocking HTTP communication.\n\n- Understanding of connection management, timeout handling, retries, and error handling.\n\n- Prior experience working in the e-commerce domain will be highly desirable.\n\n- Exposure to high-volume transactions, order management, payment integrations, inventory, product catalogues, customer journeys, or marketplace systems will be an advantage.\n\n- Experience building scalable systems capable of handling high traffic and transaction volumes is preferred.\n\n- Provide technical leadership to backend engineering teams.\n\n- Review technical designs and provide constructive architectural feedback.\n\n- Conduct code reviews and establish coding best practices.\n\n- Mentor developers and support technical skill development.\n\n- Identify technical risks and propose appropriate solutions.\n\n- Collaborate effectively with architects, product teams, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders.\n\nSkills : \n\n- Take ownership of backend components from design through development, deployment, and production support.\n\n- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\n- 8 -
