With broad visibility and impact across hundreds of developers, this is an opportunity to innovate, solve complex problems, and influence the evolution of DevOps practices at Ciena.\nHow you will make an impact:\nDrive enhancements to Continuous Integration pipelines, tools, and designer workflows to improve software quality and stability.\nImplement automation solutions that increase speed, reliability, and scalability across ON development environments.\nCollaborate across geographies with software engineering, infrastructure, and tooling teams in an Agile environment.\nIntegrate industry technologies-including Python, Jenkins, Git, Google Repo, and Gerrit-to streamline DevOps workflows.\nOptimize code integration processes to support rapid and predictable ON product releases.\nApply data-driven approaches to improve system performance and identify areas for process innovation.\nContribute to a problem-solving culture by identifying, triaging, and resolving DevOps challenges.\nThe must haves:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.\n5+ years of experience in software development or tools development, ideally within Continuous Integration environments.\nStrong knowledge of the Git development environment and workflow.\nExperience with Jenkins, Python, Go/Yocto build environments.\nProven communication skills, including inter-personal, written, and verbal.\nHands-on experience building or maintaining development automation.\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively in Agile teams.\nStrong understanding of DevOps fundamentals.\nNice to haves:\nFamiliarity with Bitbucket, Google Repo, Gerrit.\nExposure to Angular, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, REST, SQL/NoSQL databases, Docker, and Ansible.\nExperience with DevSecOps practices.\nUnderstanding of AI-driven automation.\nExperience supporting large-scale software development organizations.\nKnowledge of Optical Networking concepts.\nAt Ciena, we are committed to building and fostering an environment in which our employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
