Hardware positions involve working in a team to design, implement and validate leading edge optical & digital/analog circuit packs that are used in Ciena’s Transport and Switching products.\nAs a Power Hardware Engineer you will:\nDevelop power and ground systems for next generation Optical and Ethernet platform equipment.\n\nDesign high performance circuit pack level power solutions (schematics and layouts) and work with hardware design prime to implement on their circuit packs.\n\nWork with hardware and mechanical design, and external supply partners to realize designs.\n\nHold design, verification spec, and performance results reviews with peers as required.\n\nWork with suppliers, corporate and manufacturing procurement organizations to deliver components and sub-systems designs into production.\n\nVerify system and sub-component design with engineering and production prototypes.\n\nThe Must Haves:\nBachelor of Engineering degree\n\nGood communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills across multiple disciplines in Hardware development, manufacturing, test engineering, and with external suppliers.\n\nExperience with Power lab test equipment and measurement techniques.\n\nProduct development experience in micro electronic power\n\n5+ years working with electrical power systems in an industrial or utility environment, with working knowledge in key areas of System Power and Grounding design, Power Component Circuit pack design, and Product Development cycle experience\nNice to Haves:\nPostgraduate in Electronics or Micro Electronics Power.\n\nProfessional Engineer (PE) designation or eligibility\n\nKnowledge of power and ground design standards for Telecom and Data center customers.\n\nProject management experience\n\nPay Range:\nThe annual pay range for this position is $74,200 - $118,400\nPay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.\nNon-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
