The Associate Services Project Manager contributes to the successful delivery of customer services projects that help achieve business outcomes while meeting quality, schedule, and financial objectives. This role operates under the guidance of a Ciena Senior Project Manager within a collaborative, inclusive, and customer-focused environment.\nHow you will make an impact:\nLead project implementation activities within customer networks.\nEnsure project scope, schedules, deliverables, quality objectives, and service margin targets are achieved.\nAnalyse project proposals to determine timelines, funding limitations, and execution approaches.\nIdentify, schedule, and track deliverables, milestones, tasks, and project communications.\nDocument and communicate project status, risks, obstacles, and resolutions to management.\nPerform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.\nCoordinate with Customer Operations, Sales, Bid Management, Service Delivery, Finance, and other stakeholders to achieve project and financial objectives.\nThe must haves:\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.\nExperience: Up to 12 months related project management work experience strongly preferred.\nApplication of critical thinking and analysis to evaluate multidimensional problems and generate solutions.\nApplication of judgment and decision-making across multiple alternatives.\nAbility to plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities.\nAbility to work collaboratively within a matrix organization involving multiple stakeholders.\nUtilization of Microsoft Project and Salesforce project management tools.\nNice to haves:\nCertifications: PRINCE2 or PMP certification preferred.\n Experience: Experience working in a matrix organization and demonstrating influencing and collaboration across multiple teams.\nApplication of technology, services, and business concepts in a project environment.\nBusiness judgment applied to complex business issues.\nResults-oriented, collaborative, and accountable approach to work.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nCustomer-first mindset with focus on relationship building, velocity, business acumen, and influencing others.\nAt Ciena, we are committed to building and fostering an environment in which our employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
