This role combines platform ownership, solution architecture, and hands-on development to maximize the value delivered through ServiceNow. Success in this role requires the ability to independently assess an established environment and provide technical leadership with minimal knowledge transfer.\nHow you will make an impact:\nOwn the technical direction, architecture, stability, security, and overall health of the ServiceNow platform.\nIndependently assess the existing platform, including configurations, customizations, applications, integrations, data models, security, and technical dependencies.\nDesign scalable, secure, maintainable, and upgrade-friendly ServiceNow solutions.\nPerform hands-on development, configuration, troubleshooting, and code reviews.\nEnsure solutions follow ServiceNow best practices and use out-of-the-box capabilities wherever practical.\nDefine and enforce standards for architecture, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and governance.\nIdentify technical debt, platform risks, performance issues, and improvement opportunities. \nIdentify opportunities to automate processes, improve user experience, and increase business value. \nLead complex technical discussions, solution-design sessions, platform upgrades, and root-cause analysis. \nCreate and maintain clear technical, architecture, integration, and support documentation. \nGuide developers, administrators, internal teams, and implementation partners.\nThe must haves:\n8+ Years Experience as a ServiceNow Platform Lead, Technical Architect, Solution Architect, Lead Developer, or similar senior role. \nStrong ServiceNow development and scripting skills.\nProven experience designing and delivering complex ServiceNow solutions. \nStrong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, integrations, security, data models, performance, testing, release management, and upgrades. \nAbility to understand an unfamiliar ServiceNow environment independently and become productive quickly. \nStrong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. \nExcellent verbal and written communication skills. \nExcellent technical documentation skills. \nAbility to work effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, leadership, and vendors. \nStrong sense of accountability and platform ownership.\nExperience with ITSM, CMDB, Asset Management, App Engine, Service Portal or Employee Center, Automated Test Framework, Discovery, Service Mapping, Performance Analytics and Strategic Portfolio Management.\nAt Ciena, we are committed to building and fostering an environment in which our employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
