This role focuses on developing structured, reusable, and machine-consumable content assets that enhance enterprise-wide discoverability and scalability. The position integrates technical writing, structured authoring, and Python-based automation to enable AI-driven content solutions.\nThe ideal candidate is a hands-on contributor who develops high-quality content and builds automation and integration solutions using Python and modern APIs.\nHow you will make an impact:\nCreate and maintain structured technical content using DITA/XML in AEM Guides\n\nTranslate complex technical information into modular, reusable content components\n\nApply retrieval-aware authoring practices to improve content discoverability and reuse\n\nManage content lifecycle activities including versioning, publishing, archival, and retirement\n\nWork with AEM Guides and AEM Sites for content authoring, publishing, and lifecycle management.\n\nDefine and maintain metadata, taxonomy, and classification frameworks across DAM systems\n\nDevelop Python-based automation for content processing, validation, and workflow optimization\n\nIntegrate API and LLM-based services to support content tagging, summarization, and retrieval\n\nSupport content ingestion and migration, ensuring structure and metadata alignment.\n\nEnsure adherence to content governance, standards, and best practices.\n\nOptimize content and metadata for search, retrieval, and reuse across DAM systems.\n\nThe must haves:\n5+ years of experience in Application of technical writing practices using DITA, XML, and structured authoring concepts such as topics, maps, and reuse mechanisms\n\nProficiency in Python programming for automation and system integration\n\nExperience of Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS)\n\nExperience of AEM Sites for content authoring and publishing workflows\n\nExperience of Adobe Edge Delivery Services\n\nExposure to LLM APIs or service-based integrations\n\nKnowledge of Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems, including content modeling, metadata, taxonomy, and organization principles\n\nKnowledge of cloud/SaaS documentation environments.\n\nBasic understanding of retrieval-based concepts (e.g., RAG).\n\nNice to haves:\nKnowledge of network engineering concepts\n\nKnowledge of DITA Open Toolkit (DITA-OT) principles\n\nKnowledge of Retrieval-Aware Authoring (RAA) principles\n\nFamiliarity with knowledge graphs, ontology, or semantic modeling\n\nUnderstanding of metadata standards such as Dublin Core and schema.org\n\nExposure to vector search, embeddings, or semantic indexing\n\nExperience with REST APIs and JSON-based integrations\n\nExperience with content quality tools (e.g., Acrolinx, Congree)\n\nAt Ciena, we are committed to building and fostering an environment in which our employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
