Success inthisrolehelps accelerate the introduction of advanced connectivity solutions into high-volume production.\nHow you will make an impact:\nDesign software tools, frameworks, and applications for Windows and cloud-based platforms that support data collection and test automation.\nDeliver software solutions across presentation, application, business logic, and data access layers.\nBuild scalable and documented softwareutilizingCI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.\nDrive standardization of test software frameworks across production environments.\nEnable adoption of technologies that enhance or replace existing test solutions.\nCollaborate with electrical, optical, systems, and research and development teams to define software requirements and specifications.\nProvidetechnical guidance and share best practices supporting process and test automation. The musthaves:\nExperience: 3+ years of experience in object-oriented software development, preferablyutilizingC# and .NET.\nApplication of serverless and cloud-based solutions, preferablyutilizingAmazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure.\nUtilizationof source control management systems, CI/CD tools, code review practices, Git, Subversion (SVN), Bamboo, and Artifactory.\nTroubleshooting and debugging within complex software environments.\nApplication of TypeScript, Angular, SCSS, ASP.NET, and REST service design and implementation.\nUtilizationof test-driven development methodologies, software design patterns, data structures, agile development tools, and Jira.\nApplication of data science principles and methodologies. Nice tohaves:\nAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies.\nSelf-motivated and organized approach with willingness to learn.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality results within aggressive timelines.\nCuriosity to evaluate and apply emerging technologies to solve business challenges.\nExperience in instrumentation, optics, or telecommunications.\nExperience working with Manufacturing Execution Systems.\nPay Range:\nThe salary range for this role in Ottawa is $76, 700 - $122, 500\nPay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.\nNon-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
