Responsibilities
The Position: Reporting to the Vice President Sales Support, we are recruiting a Senior Business Development Manager for Hexagon AS Agriculture solutions team in Japan. This position based in Japan, will support existing clients whilst identifying growth market and opportunities for expansion into the Asia market.
As part of a global team, this position is an integral contributor to Hexagon Agriculture divisions, success, direction and regional market growth - establishing Hexagon as industry leader in advancing technology that help shape our customer success, performance and operational optimization.
As an independent leader, your responsibilities will contribute to the end-to-end lifecycle of sales process from front end defining market growth strategy, to forecast and pipeline management, contract negation and post deployment customer relationship management.
As part of a globally distributed team, this role requires a high level of autonomy and self-direction. You’ll be empowered to make decisions, manage priorities, and drive initiatives independently while collaborating across time zones and cultures. In addition, this will therefore require availability to attend meetings in different time zones or travel internationally across a year.

Qualifications
About You
This position is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager, Director or Senior Business Development Manager ready for the next steps where your passion for Technology, sales and Customer relations align in opportunity that will see you deliver high impact success in a new regional area.
In addition we are looking for the following;
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
- 10+ years in technical sales, field applications, market development, or other customer-facing technical role.
- Proven Success in new business development, market growth strategies, account management
- Extensive agriculture experience across rice paddy, small-plot vegetable, orchard, or specialty crop systems common in Japan and Northern Asia, ideally with channel or distribution exposure.
- Working knowledge of autonomy-enabling technologies such as GNSS/INS, ROS, CAN bus, machine vision, or perception systems.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills, including technical training, product demos, and executive presentations.
- Ability to drive outcomes, independently, working in a agile environment
- Prior experience in a matrix organization would be desired, not essential
- Bilingual- Japanese (Fluent) English (Business Skill)
NICE-TO-HAVE
- Familiarity with product lifecycle feedback processes and collaboration with product management teams.
- Additional Asian language skills (Korean, Mandarin, Thai, or Vietnamese particularly valued).
- Experience with utilizing or integrating precision farming technology on agricultural equipment.
