You will work closely with experienced engineers and designers and gain practical experience in the preparation of engineering calculations, technical documents, drawings, and project deliverables for multidisciplinary projects.\nThe position will provide exposure to industrial facilities and systems in sectors such as mining, oil & gas, utilities, water treatment, and power generation.\nMain Responsibilities\nAssist with mechanical and piping design activities for industrial projects. \nAssist with the preparation and review of mechanical drawings, piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and other engineering deliverables. \nAssist with the preparation of equipment datasheets, technical specifications, material take-offs, and vendor document reviews. \nPerform basic engineering calculations and technical research under the supervision of experienced engineers. \nAssist with equipment and piping selection and preparation of technical comparisons. \nSupport coordination with other engineering disciplines, clients, vendors, and contractors. \nParticipate in site visits, field reviews, and collection of existing-condition information, as required. \nAssist with maintaining project documentation, technical comment logs, and engineering records. \nSupport the development and improvement of engineering calculation tools, templates, and workflows. \n Profile\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, with at least three years of the program completed. \nPrevious mechanical engineering internship or co-op experience is considered an asset. \nExposure to industrial projects, including mining, oil & gas, utilities, water/wastewater, or power generation, is considered an asset. \nCompletion of coursework in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. \nCompletion of coursework covering pump and compressor fundamentals, including basic principles of operation, performance, and selection. \nFamiliarity with mechanical equipment and piping systems, including pumps, compressors, valves, and heat exchangers, is considered an asset. \nFamiliarity with AutoCAD, Plant 3D, SolidWorks, Caesar II, or similar engineering/design software is considered an asset. \nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. \nAbility to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. \nStrong interpersonal and communication skills. \nAbility to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment. \nA desire to learn and continually develop. \nStrong personal commitment to health and safety. \nValid driver’s licence. \nThe salary for this position ranges from $24.63 to $30.05 per hour, depending on your academic profile, the number of credits earned, and your previous co-op or internship experience.
