Together, we’ll push boundaries and go above what’s expected of us to meet the challenges of tomorrow and engineer a better world!\nAs a junior Protection and Control (P&C)/SCADA Engineer, you will be working with a team of P&C detailed designers and SCADA designers and contribute to large-scale electrical energy projects. You will evolve in a multidisciplinary environment and develop skills by collaborating with experienced professionals, particularly on substation, hydroelectric power station, and renewable energy projects, with numerous clients across Canada.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nDetailed Engineering Deliverables: Prepare and update secondary design packages for substations and utility power systems, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), three-line AC diagrams, protection schematics, logic/interlock diagrams, wiring schedules, panel layouts, and bills of materials (BOMs).\nSCADA & Automation Design: Assist in developing SCADA network architecture topologies, I/O point mapping lists, DNP3/Modbus memory maps, and RTU/gateway configurations utilizing industry protocols (DNP3, IEC 61850, Modbus).\nStation Service Systems: Perform basic load calculations and assist in designing AC/DC station service systems, including station battery, charger, inverter, and distribution board schematics.\nInterdisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with civil, structural, physical layout, and project management teams to deliver integrated, compliant substation engineering design packages.\nQA/QC & Work Package Updates: Participate in internal QA/QC reviews, attend client comment resolution meetings, and incorporate review markup updates to prepare packages for IFC (Issued for Construction).\nField Engineering & Site Support: Conduct site surveys, support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and site commissioning, and participate in sporadic field visits for system startup, inspection, and monitoring under the guidance of senior engineers.\n Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.\nProfessional Registration: Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or eligible for registration (P.Eng. track) with EGBC or another Canadian provincial engineering association (e.g., APEGA, PEO).\nExperience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in detailed P&C and SCADA design within the Canadian electric utility, industrial power, or engineering consulting sectors.\nTechnical Knowledge: Basic understanding of utility protection philosophies, secondary control wiring, SCADA architecture, and Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs/relays).\nSoftware Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CAD software or PDF markup tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu).\nPersonal & Professional Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills, willingness to learn under technical mentorship, clear written and verbal English communication skills, and high integrity and commitment to safety and engineering excellence.\nIntegrity, team spirit, and a commitment to excellence.\nAt CIMA+, we value diversity of talent and perspective.
