Cloud Platform Engineering - CPE 1

The Cloud Platform Engineer is responsible for developing cloud services, leveraging automation (Infrastructure as Code) capabilities across areas such as cloud platform, cloud infrastructure, and cloud network.

What You Will Do

• Translate architecture designs into production-ready Terraform templates for cloud platform, infrastructure, and network
• Provision and test environments entirely through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
• Build the infrastructure CI/CD pipeline on GitLab/Bitbucket/Atlantis that serves as the standard path for every change
• Support projects end to end - from requirements and design, through testing, to cutover
• Act as L2 support when things do not behave as they should, and make sure postmortems produce fixes, not just documents
• Provide technical support to Application teams on troubleshooting and cloud service clarification

What We Are Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Information Technology, with 3+ years in a similar role
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building on Google Cloud Platform
• 2+ years of experience with Terraform/OpenTofu/CloudFormation, Bitbucket/Git/GitLab/GiHub, Python/Shell, as well as Linux and Windows Server
• Knowledge of managed container platforms - Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or Red Hat OpenShift
• Solid understanding of the service delivery life cycle, particularly in IT Infrastructure
• Familiarity with Incident & Problem Management frameworks and processes
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Nice to Have

• Google Cloud certification - Professional Cloud Architect or Associate Cloud Engineer
• Understanding of GitOps practices, including merge request approval and branch protection as an implementation of Maker-Checker control
• Experience working in environments subject to audit and regulatory control
