In essence, each General Manager is responsible for every job function in the theatre. They must be able to personally perform and train others in all positions. The General Manager will conduct performance management, in the form of counseling and evaluating individuals and helping them to progress in their careers. In addition, they will oversee inventory, ordering supplies, writing schedules, manpower planning, hiring, and maintaining a safe work environment.Responsibilities:\nThe essential duties and responsibilities of a General Manager include, but are not limited to, the following:\nResponsible for the overall profit and loss of the theatre operation\nGrows a successful, multi-million-dollar business; drives sales leveraging the business acumen, and has efficiency, and problem-solving skills\nConducts regular inventory and ordering as necessary\nTrains and coaches Team Members and management members in their specific job functions\nOrganizes and conducts Team Member meetings and training sessions\nEnsures that theatre Team Members follow the dress code\nRuns effective, concise, and inspirational pre-shifts\nInterviews, hires, and evaluates Team Members and Management Members\nDevelops promotions in alignment with company goals\nPrepares administrative and special reports for senior management\nEnforces cash handling procedures as directed by Cinemark policy (General Manager is held accountable for cash discrepancies)\nFollows the policies and procedures as established in Cinemark’s guidelines (Enforces these with all Team Members fairly and consistently)\nManages employee relations issues\nAll management must follow the Employee Relations Reporting Protocol\nAll management is held at a high work ethic standard and code of conduct\nInspects the theatre building, parking lot, landscaping, Cinemark property, roof and exterior signage, and equipment condition\nInitiates repair and maintenance of the building, property, and equipment\nMeets with Guests and vendors in order to improve service in the theatre\nConsistently identifies and sanitizes Employee and Guest high-contact areas\nProperly addresses any safety or security issues (trip hazards, lighting, suspicious persons, etc.)\nProperly utilizes Personal Protective Equipment while completing position specific tasks\nAdapts to the frequency and scope of required cleaning tasks\nPerforms other work-related duties as assigned\nRequirements:\nMust be at least 18 years of age (at least 21 years of age in theatres that serve alcohol)\nHigh School or G.E.D. graduate preferred\nMinimum of 3 years previous theatre management experience\nSenior Assistant Manager or Theatre Manager experience preferred\nCompletion of Cinemark’s Management Accreditation Program, and passing of the Comprehensive Assessment testing process.\nCompletes basic food handling training and obtains any local or state mandated certification, health card, or food handlers permit where required\nSERV Safe Certification (where required)\nAvailability to work flexible hours which include evenings, weekends, and holidays (Must work at least 40 hours per week)\nRequires regular and consistent attendance\nHas an energetic and friendly attitude during each shift\nProvides excellent Guest service\nAccurate cash handling and basic math skills\nInterpersonal skills include the ability to communicate (verbal and written) with all ages, genders, and personalities. Must be able to effectively and regularly converse in and comprehend English\nAbility to work in a team environment and independently\nAbility to take and follow direction\nResponds with a sense of urgency\nExcellent time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail\nAbility to train and lead others\nMust be able to resolve conflict\nPhysical and Environmental Requirements:\nFrequent bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.\nFrequent standing, walking and reaching around the theater.\nNoise level may be moderate to high at times.\nBe able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time.\nBenefits Available:\nAt Cinemark, we believe every team member should feel like a hero.
