A large centre bar area with adjacent stage includes impressive digital displays and serves as the gathering spot for watching the big game or other major events. The Rec Room integrates a cutting-edge interactive technology platform that enhances all aspects of the entertainment experience.\nCineplex Entertainment, headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, is currently recruiting for the position of Host/ Server Assistant - The Rec Room Deerfoot, reporting to the Service Manager. This position will be based at The Rec Room Deerfoot located at 1180-901 64 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 7P4.\nThe Host/Server Assistant role is a multifaceted role, combining all aspects of restaurant support. The Host/Server Assistant will be responsible for providing consistently high-levels of customer service to all restaurant guests by providing prompt service, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items, entertainment options, and any ongoing promotions. The Host/Server Assistant will also be responsible for delivering food and beverages to guests in multiple departments of the building, as well as clearing tables and the bar as soon as guests leave their seating.\nThe Host/ Server Assistant is responsible for ensuring that the food and beverages are being delivered at the correct temperature (hot is hot; cold is cold), presentable, and that nothing is missing from the plate, glass, platter, or the overall order. This will include bringing condiments to the table, utensils, and other items upon request. The Host/ Server Assistant will be working closely with Dishwashers to make sure that there are always clean plates and flatware for each table in the dining room and bar. The Host/ Server Assistant will also ensure liquor supplies, glassware and ice supplies are filled to sustain service levels at the bar. When required, the Host/ Server Assistant will obtain and deliver supplies as required by the Bar staff and Managers. When required, the Host/ Server Assistant will be required to change kegs in the walk-in fridge or portable bars if applicable.\nThe Host/Server Assistant performs these customer service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times, and ensure that the guest has an enjoyable hospitality experience, in the dining room, bar, amusement floor, or Shed area.\nJob Duties:\nGreet guests upon entry and ensure guest are comfortable navigating the dining areas, gaming areas, and other building amenities.\nReceive and record guests' reservations and assign tables.\nGreet guests at entrance of dining room and escort them to tables or other seating areas.\nMaintain familiarity with the composition of all menu items.\nSpeak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, and attend to complaints.\nLet Rec Room leadership know about necessary dining room supplies and equipment\nInspect dining and serving areas and equipment.\nSupport and co-ordinate activities of food and beverage servers and other serving staff\nClean agreed designated areas, in accordance with downtime procedures, morning/evening routines and hygiene requirements.\nChange table linen as required and ensure dirty or damaged linen is counted and exchanged for clean, usable items.\nAt all times to be aware of and practice good customer relations, assisting the guest in any way which does not adversely affect other customers.\nAttend to customer complaints satisfactorily.\nDeliver prepared food to guests, ensuring the entire table’s food arrives at the same time.\nMonitor food distribution, ensuring that meals have been prepared to the Rec Room standard and the Guest’s specification, and is delivered to the correct guest by table and seat number.\nDeliver food items with appropriate condiments when required.\nReturn food and drink items if a change or correction is required, and return the newly prepared item to the guest after the necessary changes have been made.\nFill water glasses and refillable drinks.\nCollaborate with wait staff to ensure that tables are cleared, cleaned, and ready for the next party.\nRemove trays and stack dishes for return to the kitchen or bar after guests are finished.\nAssist with and maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant and bar areas, maintain clean appearances.\nStock service stations with items such as ice, napkins, or straws.\nProvide assistance to the wait staff, bar staff and kitchen staff as needed.\nMaintain liquor and bar supplies during shift.\nHandle and move objects such as glasses and bottles.\nChange Kegs in the walk-in Bar fridge.\nPrepare bar beverage garnishes to recipe / as instructed.\nAssist in washing dishes if the kitchen staff gets behind during the busier times of the day.\nArrange tables for large parties and prepare the banquet hall for scheduled gatherings.\nEnsure guest service is paramount during work hours.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nRequirements:\nHigh school diploma or GED required.
