Come join our team today!\nPosition Summary\nThe Health and Safety Manager provides safety leadership, ensures operational compliance with safety standards, implements safety directives, assists management to improve safety performance, and helps align safety policies and procedures with regulations. This position supports departments and subcontractors.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nDevelop and support creation of a strategy of safety and compliance strategic goals. \nEnsure site management has the appropriate activity-based goals for the leadership team, managers, and supervisors, in order to drive the safety culture, compliance, and results.\nSupervise, lead, and mentor company-wide safety and compliance support staff.\nDevelop effective safety and compliance programs and policies designed to meet operational goals to reduce injuries and incidents.\nCommunicate safety and compliance strategy and objectives to leadership.\nSupport site management in the implementation of safety and compliance programs or policies.\nDesign and implement effective metrics to track progress, proactively identify areas of concern, and drive accountability.\nExecute an effective Occupational, Health & Safety Management System.\nLiaise with external vendors to manage hazardous waste hotline, SDS system, waste collection, and disposal program.\nLead or direct incident investigation process, including root cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans.\nFacilitate supervisor and management training on root cause analysis.\nAssist site management in ensuring compliance with all regulatory agencies.\nMonitor, interpret and communicate regulatory changes to management.\nDisplay strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and analytical skills.\nDemonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader.\nIdentify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work process risks, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.\nProvide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.\nPerform other duties as required and/or assigned. \nRequirements\nRequirements\nHigh School Diploma, GED\nOSHA 510\nFive (5) years related supervisory experience in a safety role.\nWorking knowledge of the construction/electrical/gas industry/and HDD industry.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to think strategically and provide strong leadership.\nStrong knowledge of applicable regulations.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality.\nClarity of vision at 20 inches or less.\nValid US Driver's license.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAssociate's degree in related field of study.\nOSHA 500\nOSHA 10 and 30 Certifications.\nBilingual in Spanish\nCertified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP)\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nThis job often operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, squatting, and lifting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required.
