We have built a flexible work environment where new ideas are encouraged and everyone is a stakeholder.\nWhat you’ll be responsible for:\nAs an Accountant, you will take end to end ownership of assigned accounting areas across operating costs, cash transactions, payroll and employee related costs, share based compensation, fixed assets and intangible assets, including internally developed intangible assets. You will own the accounting, close and controls for your areas, while developing a strong understanding of the underlying data and processes and using AI and automation to improve quality, efficiency and scalability.\nWhat you’ll work on:\nOwn key month end and quarter end accounting activities across operating costs, payroll and employee related costs, share based compensation, fixed and intangible assets and leases, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, capitalisation and other period end adjustments.\n\nWork with cash transactions and large accounting datasets, using analytical and AI enabled tools to identify exceptions, investigate unusual items and ensure transactions are complete, accurately classified and appropriately reflected in the financial statements.\n\nAnalyse balance sheet and P&L movements, get to the root cause of unexpected results and provide clear, evidence based commentary on key drivers.\n\nDevelop a strong understanding of the business activity, data and systems behind your accounting areas. Approach unfamiliar or non routine transactions with curiosity, research the accounting and form a point of view under relevant U.S. GAAP, escalating complex matters where appropriate.\n\nPrepare supporting schedules, financial reporting and assigned SEC disclosures, and perform relevant ICFR and SOX controls with high quality documentation and testing readiness.\n\nTake ownership of problems and drive them through to resolution, working across Finance and the wider business to improve upstream data, processes and controls rather than simply addressing issues at month end.\n\nSupport audit, tax and compliance requirements, proactively resolving issues and maintaining high quality supporting documentation.\n\nUse AI and automation as part of how you work: experiment with new tools, challenge manual processes and identify, design and implement solutions that improve the speed, quality and scalability of accounting, while maintaining appropriate human judgement, governance and controls.\n\nWhat you’ll bring to Circle:\nWe are looking for someone who combines strong accounting fundamentals with curiosity, judgement, ownership and a bias for action. You will enjoy solving problems where the answer is not immediately obvious, communicate a clear point of view and continually look for better ways to work.\nCore Requirements:\n2+ years of relevant accounting or audit experience.\n\nACA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification, with.\n\nStrong problem solving skills and curiosity, with the ability to work through ambiguity, investigate large or complex datasets, identify root causes and drive issues through to resolution.\n\nHigh ownership, resilience and bias for action. You are comfortable taking initiative, making progress with incomplete information and learning quickly when faced with something unfamiliar.\n\nHigh standards for accuracy and execution, with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver quality work at pace.\n\nClear, structured communication skills, with the ability to explain issues, articulate a point of view and collaborate effectively with Finance and non Finance stakeholders.\n\nA strong AI and automation mindset, with hands on experience using AI, automation or data tools to solve problems or improve how work gets done. You are curious about emerging tools, willing to experiment and able to apply appropriate judgement, governance and controls.\n\nStrong understanding of audit, ICFR and SOX requirements and experience working effectively with internal and external auditors.\n\nAbility to learn quickly and collaborate constructively with a global, cross functional team across multiple time zones.\n\nPreferred Requirements:\nExperience in a leading professional services firm and/or a U.S. public company, including exposure to SEC reporting and SOX.\n\nExperience in digital assets, payments, FinTech, technology or financial services industry.
