We’re now building the engineering core that will scale it further.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe’re hiring full-stack robotics engineers to keep The Grid operational and push its limits. This is a hands-on, high-impact role based full-time on-site in Western Massachusetts for a minimum of two years. After that, relocation to a future Grid site or a remote transition may be possible.\nYou’ll be embedded directly in the factory, owning both physical and software systems: tuning camera networks, fixing robot reliability issues, deploying new subsystems, and driving bold experiments to increase throughput. This is not a “write tickets, wait for ops” job. You are the ops.\nWho This Role Is For\nThis role is only suitable for someone who has built full robotic systems -whether as a hobbyist, student, employee, or founder. You’ll be expected to integrate software, hardware, and process into functional systems and debug failures under real-world production pressure.\nWe don’t hire narrow specialists. We want engineers who can:\nDiagnose system-wide failures from first principles\n\nPrototype mechanical and software fixes on the fly\n\nWork autonomously and communicate clearly to a remote team\n\nTake full responsibility for uptime and performance in live production\n\nExample Tasks\nConfigure and debug a distributed GigE vision system\n\nAnalyze end effector behavior from video and revise its geometry\n\nPrototype and deploy a new test robot for in-line PCB validation\n\nTravel to London/Cambridge to brief R&D teams and shape roadmap priorities\n\nWhy This Role Matters\nYou’ll be the eyes, hands, and brain of The Grid-directly responsible for keeping one of the most advanced electronics assembly systems in the world operating and evolving.
