It's live, scaling fast and delivering real revenue, and we're building the team that will scale it further.\nThe role\nMechatronics Engineers at CircuitHub own projects end to end. You'll start with a problem, often on our factory floor, and take it all the way to a working machine:\nUnderstand the problem and turn it into a clear specification\n\nGenerate ideas and choose the right mechanism\n\nDesign it in CAD and prove it out with the engineering calculations\n\nPrototype and build it, machining parts in our in-house CNC shop\n\nBring it to life with software on our in-house robotics operating system\n\nWe work AI-first. AI tools help you scope the problem, drive your CAD, run the calculations and write the machine software. The software side needs basic software engineering skills, not a software background: you'll write it with AI agents, supported by a dedicated software engineering team who build the operating system.\nYou must have built things before, ideally robots, whether as a hobbyist, student, employee or founder. We don't hire narrow specialists. We want engineers who can:\nDiagnose system-wide failures from first principles\n\nPrototype mechanical and software fixes on the fly\n\nWork autonomously and communicate clearly with a team spread across sites\n\nTake responsibility for how their machines perform in live production\n\nThings you'll do\nThis is a design role with hands-on prototyping. For example:\nConceive new mechanisms to handle electronics parts and other robotic handling tasks, using AI to scope and specify the problem\n\nDesign gantries and end effectors in Fusion 360\n\nUse AI agents to run the engineering calculations, and know when to distrust them\n\nMachine prototype parts in our in-house CNC shop\n\nAnalyse end-effector behaviour from video and revise its geometry and control approach to improve throughput and reliability\n\nProgram machine behaviour on our in-house robotics operating system, with AI agents doing the heavy lifting\n\nSpecify sensors that catch errors while a machine is running, or monitor a chemical process\n\nPrototype and deploy a new test robot for in-line PCB validation\n\nCommission your machines and hand them over to our build team to scale up\n\nWork across our US and UK sites to share what you've learned and shape the roadmap\n\nBonus skills\nExperience programming machines, whether PLCs, robot controllers, embedded systems or Python\n\nProgramming and running CNC machinery\n\nDesign of chemical handling machinery\n\nOptics\n\nPay and level\n$80K-$200K depending on experience, plus equity.\nA candidate at the lower end of the range might have:\nBuilt some systems before, with some exposure to robotics or automation\n\nSeen parts and subsystems through to manufacture as part of a design team\n\nKnowledge of designing for machining\n\nA keen interest in moving their career towards practical robotics\n\nA candidate at the upper end might also have:\nLed the build and deployment of large-scale automated systems\n\nWritten the software that controls their own machines\n\nDesigned for a wide range of manufacturing methods, from machining to sheet metal to injection moulding\n\nMentored more junior engineers\n\nThe range isn't a hard limit: if you're an expert in all of the above, we still want to talk to you.
