You will work closely with colleagues across the site to resolve issues, minimise disruption and continually improve our facilities operation.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide preventive and reactive maintenance for site services and equipment, troubleshooting faults and coordinating or carrying out repairs.\nCoordinate contractors and planned and unplanned works, ensure activities are completed safely and meet site standards, building codes and operational requirements.\nComplete minor facilities improvements and support projects and annual maintenance shutdowns.\nCommunicate work plans, access requirements, risks and operational interruptions clearly to internal stakeholders and building occupants.\nConduct regular inspections and support Environment, Health and Safety requirements, facilities compliance and internal audits.\nCoordinate waste segregation, storage, collections, recycling and safe disposal, including technical, chemical and hazardous waste where applicable.\nOversee waste service providers, maintain compliance documentation and identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve recycling.\nMaintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, contractor actions and project documentation.\nTake ownership of facilities issues and identify and implement practical improvements.\nParticipate in the site on-call rota and respond to facilities emergencies in accordance with agreed procedures.\nRequired Skills and Qualifications:\nExperience in facilities engineering, maintenance engineering or building services within a live operational environment.\nA practical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, with strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.\nExperience coordinating contractors and working with multiple stakeholders to deliver works with minimal disruption.\nStrong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing tasks and follow issues through to resolution.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with technical and non-technical colleagues.\nProficiency with email, Microsoft Office or equivalent applications, and maintenance or work-order systems.\nAbility to work independently, take initiative and remain effective under pressure, with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.\nWillingness and ability to participate in the site on-call rota.\nPreferred Skills and Qualifications:\nExperience with HVAC, chilled water, pumps, Building Management Systems, UPS, water systems, fire alarms, access control or low-voltage electrical distribution.\nExperience supporting office, laboratory, technical, manufacturing or similarly critical environments.\nKnowledge of waste management, recycling, hazardous waste controls or environmental compliance.\nFamiliarity with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS), permits to work, COSHH and waste transfer documentation.\nAn engineering degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification in a relevant
