Cisco Systems is an American networking company founded in 1984 by Stanford computer scientists Leonard Bosack and Sandy Lerner, and headquartered in San Jose, California. It is the largest supplier of enterprise networking equipment in the world, building the routers, switches, wireless access points and optical systems that carry traffic across corporate networks, service providers and data centres, together with the software and silicon that run them. The company has diversified heavily into security, observability through Splunk, collaboration with Webex, and AI infrastructure networking, and now earns a growing share of revenue from software subscriptions rather than hardware sales.
The application window is expected to close on: 09/17/2026

Members of the Legal organization at select locations will generally be expected to follow a hybrid work model, which includes two days of in-office attendance each week, with limited exceptions.

Meet the Team

Cisco’s Legal Operations team powers the Legal Department by streamlining processes, implementing innovative tools, and using data-driven insights to enable delivery of high-quality legal services at scale. We partner closely with attorneys, business teams, and technical teams to help the department operate at its best - aligned, effective, and ready to support Cisco’s strategic goals.

Your Impact

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Cisco Legal Operations team as we reimagine and transform departmental operations through modernization and innovation. As a Director, Business Operations, you will lead a team responsible for solving operational challenges and uncovering opportunities to elevate how our department works. You will set direction, coach team members, and drive execution and accountability for initiatives that improve efficiency, scalability, and impact across the organization.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team responsible for delivering, evolving, and supporting legal technology solutions, including contract lifecycle management (CLM) and workflow management technologies.
  • Oversee the design, configuration, and continuous improvement of these solutions in partnership with Legal, IT, and multi-functional stakeholders; define future state processes, align requirements to business objectives, and drive high quality solution delivery through clear requirements, effective testing and deployment practices, and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide leadership oversight for run-the-business operations and project execution, including prioritization of work, issue resolution, stakeholder communication, and adoption through training and documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field; equivalent professional experience; or a Juris Doctor degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in Business Operations, Legal Operations, or a similar role, including leading teams and complex initiatives with direct people management responsibility within a legal or highly regulated environment, and applying agile product or program management practices to deliver scalable solutions.
  • Proven expertise in evaluating, implementing, scaling, and optimizing CLM, workflow management, and other legal technology solutions in complex, multi-functional environments.
  • Deep, hands-on expertise across end-to-end legal contracting and related processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Provide leadership oversight for run-the-business operations and project execution, including prioritization of work, issue resolution, stakeholder communication, and adoption through training and documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and action-oriented leadership skills, with a proven track record of cutting through noise, focusing teams on the highest impact priorities, and moving initiatives forward decisively without overengineering solutions.
