With a strong focus on reliability, efficiency, and operational excellence, the team drives impact across global operations and enables successful product outcomes.\nYour Impact\nThe Cisco Supply Chain Product Operations team is looking for a motivated and experienced individual to provide electrical product engineering support for new and sustaining products. You'll be responsible for products’ cost and quality from New Product Introduction (NPI) to End of Life (EOL).\nAs the Electrical Product Engineer, you will provide new product and on-going engineering (including DFM) for a specific product or group of products from pre-concept commit through EOL. For new products, you will collaborate with design (hardware and mechanical), process, test and reliability engineering to tackle problems and ensure cost avoidance and quality at FCS. For sustaining products, you will focus on cost reduction and design related yield improvements.\nYou will be working very closely with HW Engineering, Product Operations team, GSM, Manufacturing Operations, and EMS partners.\nHigh Level Responsibilities:\nProvide new product introduction support for ongoing engineering from pre-concept commit through EOL.\nWork collaboratively with stakeholders in the development of processes and technology to support new product development.\nBOM structuring and BOM risk Management.\nCollaborate with design (hardware and mechanical) team for Dfx issues and ensure that they are resolved prior to release of the product.\nDrive and participate in design and manufacturing FMEA.\nProvide leadership in driving the product quality issues in NPI and sustaining.\nValue engineering and cost avoidance (pre-production release) - Engage early with Component Engineering, T&Q, GSM and Hardware Engineering and influence component selection, process efficiency, and design changes.\nDesign lab experimentation / debug (proficiency continuum) / DOE/EFA.\nAssessing CM and supply chain technical capability gaps.\nCrafting, analyzing, and releasing product documentation.\nTechnical lifecycle management (defect reduction team participation, new component qualification, etc).\nDesign diagnostic analysis and input/influence.\nDebug and board bring up.\nLeadership and direction of complex issue resolution.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBS degree in Electrical Engineering plus 5-10 years related experience; Master’s preferred. \nComprehensive knowledge of system hardware architectures, design concepts, and engineering development practices. Using various diagnostic tools, debug and trouble-shoot failing system down to board level and boards down to component level. Characterize timing interface using scope, logic analyzers, TDR and various other equipment. Test, debug and bring-up proto boards.\nAdvanced experience with Allegro, Valor and other manufacturing tools used in the job.\nDeep understanding of PCB fabrication and PCB assembly process and technology.\nDemonstrated success working in cross-functional, matrixed environments.\nOutstanding written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.\nAdvanced proficiency using design tools (Valor, schematic, CAD, and other CAE tools).\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond.
