Join us to power the future of the digital world.\nYour Impact\nThis role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of networking innovation within the Cisco Silicon One initiative. As a technical and team leader, you will drive complex package design programs-from planning and optimization to execution-ensuring the delivery of high-speed, robust, and scalable solutions for global networks.\nYou will lead and grow the San Jose package design team, mentoring engineers and developing future package leads while collaborating closely with layout, SI/PI, silicon architecture, and manufacturing partners. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of high-quality package designs aligned with system-level requirements.\nBeyond technical leadership, you will help shape methodologies, improve development flows, and strengthen cross functional collaboration across Cisco’s global silicon organization, while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nResponsibilities\nLead complex package design programs, planning and driving schedules from concept through implementation and tapeout.\nOptimize package pinouts, stack-ups, power distribution, and high-speed routing, balancing performance, manufacturability, and reliability.\nCollaborate with silicon floor planning, signal integrity (SI), and power integrity (PI) teams to ensure design quality and system-level alignment.\nWork closely with layout editors and implementation teams to deliver high-quality package layouts aligned with interface and manufacturing requirements.\nServe as the technical and organizational leader of the San Jose package design team, providing direction, mentorship, and technical guidance to engineers.\nDevelop and grow package design capability within the team, mentoring engineers and enabling them to take ownership of increasingly complex package programs.\nCoordinate resources across designers, layout editors, and contractors to support efficient project execution.\nEnhance package design methodologies and partner with vendors to improve product quality and efficiency.\nDrive innovation in package solutions for Cisco’s next-generation ASIC platforms.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field with 12+ years of work experience or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 8+ years of work experience\nExperience in high-speed package design, including signal integrity considerations and power distribution networks (PDN).\nExperience with industry-standard EDA tools for package layout and design.\nExperience with technical leadership in complex hardware or silicon development programs.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExtensive experience in ASIC package design, including pinout optimization and high-speed routing.\nKnowledge of silicon floor planning and strong collaboration with SI and PI teams.\nExperience leading or mentoring engineering teams and developing technical talent.\nExperience coordinating complex cross-functional hardware development programs.\nExperience with testing and measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, TDR/VNA analyzers).\nExperience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, or shell programming\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:\n.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;\n\n1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;\n\n1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and\n\nOnce performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.\n\nFor non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target.
