Cisco Systems is an American networking company founded in 1984 by Stanford computer scientists Leonard Bosack and Sandy Lerner, and headquartered in San Jose, California. It is the largest supplier of enterprise networking equipment in the world, building the routers, switches, wireless access points and optical systems that carry traffic across corporate networks, service providers and data centres, together with the software and silicon that run them. The company has diversified heavily into security, observability through Splunk, collaboration with Webex, and AI infrastructure networking, and now earns a growing share of revenue from software subscriptions rather than hardware sales.

Business Development Manager, Country Digital Acceleration (Grade 12)

Meet the Team

Join Cisco's Latin America Sales organization and lead the Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program, a strategic initiative funded by 3P that helps build sustainable, secure, and inclusive digital communities across the Southern Cone and Andean regions.

The CDA team serves as the bridge between Cisco's global innovation and national digital agendas, creating meaningful societal and economic impact through strategic partnerships with governments, public institutions, industry, and local communities.

Your Impact

As the Business Development Manager for Country Digital Acceleration (CDA), you will define and execute the growth and investment strategy for Cisco's CDA portfolio across the Southern Cone and Andean regions. You will identify, incubate, and scale digital transformation opportunities that align government priorities, Cisco's strategic objectives, LATAM sales goals, and 3P investment priorities.

You will be accountable for delivering measurable business outcomes, including pipeline creation, bookings growth, executive engagement, and return on investment. Partnering across governments, customers, sales teams, business units, and strategic partners, you will drive alignment and execution through influence.

Success requires expertise in business development, executive engagement, investment strategy, and ecosystem leadership.

Key Responsibilities

· Build executive relationships with government leaders, public sector organizations, regulators, and strategic ecosystem stakeholders.

· Identify, develop, and scale digital transformation opportunities aligned to national priorities, Cisco growth objectives, and LATAM sales strategies.

· Partner with sales teams to generate pipeline, accelerate bookings, and expand strategic customer engagements.

· Lead CDA investment strategy and capital allocation, maximizing ROI and business impact.

· Develop business cases, investment recommendations, account strategies, and executive-level communications.

· Align Cisco's technology portfolio with national priorities in digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, workforce development, AI, and economic growth.

· Influence cross-functional leaders, partners, and stakeholders to accelerate strategic priorities and business outcomes without direct authority.

· Establish scalable investment, funding, and performance frameworks that enable growth across multiple countries.

· Expand ecosystem partnerships and alliances that accelerate digitization initiatives and market growth.

· Champion AI-enabled tools and data-driven insights to improve decision-making, productivity, and stakeholder engagement.

· Ensure compliance with Cisco, CDA, and DIO governance requirements while enabling operational scale.

· Represent Cisco as a thought leader through executive engagements, industry forums, and strategic advisory discussions.

· Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • Pipeline creation and bookings growth generated through CDA initiatives.

  • Return on investment and business impact delivered from CDA-funded programs.

  • Development and scaling of strategic digital transformation opportunities.

  • Executive stakeholder engagement and influence across government, partner, and customer communities.

  • Expansion of partner ecosystems and alliance-driven business outcomes.

  • Adoption of AI-enabled practices that improve productivity and operational effectiveness.

  • Effective governance, compliance, and execution of strategic investments across the region.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Public Policy, or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, strategy, consulting, public sector engagement, or enterprise technology sales.

  • Proven track record leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives from strategy through execution.

  • Experience generating business growth through strategic programs, partnerships, or transformation initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across organizations without direct authority.

  • Experience developing data-driven business cases, investment strategies, and executive-level presentations.

  • Strong understanding of digital transformation, public sector priorities, and government policy environments.

  • Experience managing budgets, governance processes, and strategic investment portfolios.

  • Strong executive communication, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA, Master's degree in Public Policy, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience working with governments, ministries, regulators, and C-suite executives.

  • Consulting, digital transformation, cybersecurity, AI, or technology industry background.

  • Experience leading ecosystem partnerships, alliances, and channel growth strategies.
