Cisco works alongside these organizations to modernize security architectures, strengthen cyber resilience, and securely enable digital transformation.\nYour Impact\nAs a Security Account Executive aligned to Cisco’s Capital Region, you will drive Cisco Security growth across an assigned portfolio of Federal Civilian customers. You will build trusted relationships with agency leadership, develop a deep understanding of each customer’s mission and security priorities, and connect those needs to Cisco’s cybersecurity capabilities.\nYou will operate as a strategic security partner to customers responsible for critical government functions, helping them protect users, applications, networks, data, and infrastructure while navigating evolving threats and modernization priorities.\nIn this role, you will:\nDevelop and execute strategic account plans across assigned Capital Region customers and agencies.\nBuild trusted relationships with executive, technology, cybersecurity, and operational leaders, including CIOs, CISOs, and other key decision-makers.\nDevelop a deep understanding of customer missions, cybersecurity priorities, modernization initiatives, and operational challenges.\nIdentify opportunities to modernize security architectures and improve cyber and operational resilience.\nPosition Cisco’s Security portfolio against customer priorities including Zero Trust, secure access, network security, cloud security, threat detection and response, application security, and AI-driven security operations.\nCollaborate closely with Cisco Account Managers, Security Specialists, Solutions Engineers, partners, and broader account teams to develop and execute comprehensive customer strategies.\nNavigate complex federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, funding cycles, and multi-stakeholder buying environments.\nBuild and maintain a healthy pipeline while consistently achieving or exceeding assigned sales objectives.\nMinimum Qualifications\n5+ years of 5 sales experience, with 2+ years focused on cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, or related technology solutions.\nExperience selling technology solutions into Federal Government, Federal Civilian, or other Public Sector organizations.\nProven track record of achieving or exceeding sales quotas in complex enterprise or public sector environments.\nExperience managing sophisticated sales opportunities involving multiple technical, executive, procurement, and partner stakeholders.\nExperience developing and executing strategic territory and account plans.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience selling cybersecurity solutions including network security, cloud security, SASE/SSE, Zero Trust, XDR, application security, or identity-related technologies.\nExisting knowledge of or relationships within Capital Region Federal Civilian accounts.\nFamiliarity with federal procurement processes, contract vehicles, government funding cycles, and partner-led go-to-market models.\nExperience supporting customers responsible for critical government services, transportation, legislative operations, infrastructure, or other mission-critical environments.\nAbility to engage credibly with both executive leadership and technical/security stakeholders.\nStrong executive presence with demonstrated success building long-term, trusted customer relationships.\nExperience utilizing consultative and value-based sales methodologies such as MEDDPICC.\nAbility to operate effectively across complex Cisco account teams and partner ecosystems while maintaining clear ownership of the security strategy and opportunity.\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond. Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.\nU.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco’s policies:\n10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees\n\n1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco\n\nNon-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees\n\nExempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)\n\n80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next\n\nAdditional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members\n\nOptional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer\n\nFor non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.\nEmployees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:\n.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;\n\n1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;\n\n1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and\n\nOnce performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.\n\nFor non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target.
