Partnering closely with Engineering, Architecture, Product Management, SRE, and Cisco’s Security and Trust Organization (STO), you build secure, resilient, and scalable platform features-including AI-powered capabilities-while maintaining rigorous compliance standards. As a primary technical bridge between software development and security, you write production-grade code, assess the security impact of feature designs (including AI services), and build automation to improve our security posture. Typical responsibilities include:\nUse Go or Java to implement platform security features and core infrastructure.\nPartner with engineering teams to design secure patterns for AI/ML model deployment, data protection, and inference security within the Intersight ecosystem.\nAutomate security tooling, vulnerability remediation, and continuous compliance checks using Python.\nInterpret Cisco-level mandates and security procedures into actionable code, control expectations, andautomated remediation workflows.\nReview new feature designs, AI architectures and infrastructure changes, identifying security gaps early and recommending mitigations that balance usability, performance, and security.\nGuide remediation priorities across automated scans, penetration tests, and security reviews, ensuring issues are triaged, assigned, and tracked to closure.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelors' degree in and 8 years of experience designing and maintaining production quality backend systems to include:\n5 years using Go or Java within a Microservices architecture. \n3 years focused on DevSecOps or application security.\nExperience using Python for security automation and tooling.\nExperience with secure development lifecycle (SDLC) requirements and translating security findings into practical code-based remediation plans.\nKnowledge of vulnerability triage, automated security scan findings, and SLA-based remediation workflows.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience developing or securing AI/ML workloads, including familiarity with common AI security frameworks (e.g., OWASP Top 10 for LLMs) and MLOps security.\nStrong understanding of cloud-native platforms, including AWS, Docker and Kubernetes, and how to secure them via Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible).\nProven ability to balance deep-dive technical software development tasks with broad-scope security policy and compliance mandates.\nExperience with Cisco security mandates, policies, or product security processes. \nFamiliarity with compliance audits such as SOC 2, ISO 27001 or GDPR/privacy regulations.\nSecurity or cloud certifications such as CISSP, CCSP or cloud-provider-specific developer certifications.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills to facilitate technical discussions regarding security trade-offs in software design.\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond.
