Your work will directly impact the efficiency of our global partner network, helping to reduce operational friction and improve the partner experience.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, implement, and maintain software features and product improvements for backend services with guidance from senior team members. \nContribute to distributed, highly available microservice architectures. \nParticipate in the full software development lifecycle, including design discussions, code reviews, and testing. \nImprove system performance, reliability, and observability by identifying and resolving technical issues. \nLeverage AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate your productivity and learning. \nCollaborate closely with engineers, product management, and SRE/DevOps teams. \nParticipate in incident resolution and learn from production issues through postmortems. \nCommit to continuous learning, code quality, and operational excellence. \nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. \n3+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent internship/project experience). \nFoundational knowledge of backend development and production environments. \nSolid understanding of software development and architecture concepts with a willingness to learn new technologies quickly. \nPreferred Qualifications\nFamiliarity with Java, Node.js, JavaScript, or Python. \nExposure to web application frameworks and persistence technologies such as Spring, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Kafka. \nFamiliarity with Git, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous delivery.\nFamiliarity with AI coding tools (e.g., Codex, Cursor, Copilot). \nEagerness to learn how to debug and resolve production issues. \nAbility to apply creative skills to complex problems. \nFlexible, thrives in diverse team environments, and communicates clearly and precisely. \nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to continuous learning and quality results. \nCollab Hiring\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond.
