If you’re inspired by large-scale engineering challenges and shaping the future of secure user experiences, you’ll feel right at home with us.\nYour Impact\nAs a Software Engineer on the Platform Identity, you will design, build, and operate the core identity services that power authentication, authorization, and user lifecycle management across Splunk and Cisco products. You will architect scalable and secure APIs, unify identity systems, and serve as a subject matter expert on modern identity protocols. Your work will directly strengthen platform security, improve customer trust, and influence our long-term identity strategy. You will also explore opportunities to use AI/ML to increase automation and enhance identity protection. Success in this role means delivering reliable services, driving technical excellence, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ship impactful solutions.\nMinimum Qualifications\nSignificant professional experience in software engineering delivering scalable, production-grade services.\nHands-on expertise with identity protocols such as SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and OAuth 2.0.\nExperience designing and implementing authorization models (RBAC, ABAC).\nStrong programming skills in C++ OR/AND Go.\nExperience building secure, distributed, and fault-tolerant systems.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience applying AI/ML techniques in the identity, security, or platform engineering space.\nFamiliarity with cloud provider IAM services (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Cloud Identity).\nKnowledge of directory services such as LDAP or Active Directory.\nContributions to open-source IAM projects or communities.\nStrong cross-functional communication skills and ability to partner with product, security, and engineering teams.\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond.
