Meet the Team

Commerce Engineering Productivity & Platforms (CEP&P) is a fast-moving, multifaceted engineering organization that adapts quickly to changing business and technology needs. We are launching IT Risk Management (ITRM) to support all of Cisco AI + IT with real-time risk insight, resilience testing, and closed-loop remediation. CEP&P brings together shared-service functions that enable teams across Cisco. You’ll work with some of Cisco’s most cutting-edge engineers and technical leaders as we invent how AI-native delivery changes the way we build, operate, and manage risk.

Your Impact

You will build the technical engine that helps ITRM respond to risk at machine speed. You will use Circuit My Agent, and sub-agents to turn signals from security exposure, lifecycle and technical debt, SOX, resilience, identity and AI security, GRC, and portfolio ownership into real-time risk insights and closed-loop action. You will help move the organization from retrospective reporting to risk reduction that is tested, verified, and improved.

• Design, build, and operate Circuit My Agent and sub-agent workflows that sense signals, map exposure, prioritize risk by business impact, and deliver real-time insights.
• Integrate enterprise sources such as ServiceNow, ESP, CMDB, AppSec and vulnerability tooling, SOX evidence, resilience tests, and audit or MAP actions into trusted risk intelligence.
• Implement rules, guardrails, and automated controls that detect drift or unsafe change across systems, models, data, and dependencies, with human review for exceptions.
• Test resilience, control effectiveness, and AI lifecycle safeguards before disruption and as systems evolve, using telemetry and evidence to identify gaps.
• Build closed-loop workflows that track action, verify risk reduction, and develop lessons back into design.
• Partner with the Risk Lead, domain owners, Security Primes, PSAs, and engineers to productionize the capability.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building production applications, integrations, or automation.
• AI-first attitude with demonstrated ability to experiment with emerging models, developer tools, and agentic workflows; knows the latest model capabilities and challenges established ways of working.
• Experience building APIs, event-driven services, or automated workflows using Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or a comparable language.
• Experience integrating signals or telemetry from multiple enterprise systems into risk intelligence, alerts, dashboards, or operational reporting.
• Experience with source control, CI/CD, and automated testing for services running in production.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience applying AI models, agents, or sub-agents to improve engineering productivity, quality, or risk reduction; evaluates emerging tools and trends and turns useful experiments into production capabilities.
• Experience with IT risk, security, compliance, resilience, or control data, such as SOX evidence, vulnerabilities, CMDB, ServiceNow, or GRC platforms.
• Experience implementing rules, telemetry, automated controls, or resilience and control-effectiveness testing for production systems.
• Experience designing dashboards or measures for real-time risk insight, signal-to-action time, verified closure, automation coverage, or repeat-risk reduction.
• Constructive communication and active listening. Identifies obstacles early, follows through to reliable outcomes, and influences through peer networking.

U.S. employees are offered benefits, subject to Cisco’s plan eligibility rules, which include medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability coverage, and basic life insurance. Employees may be eligible to receive grants of Cisco restricted stock units, which vest following continued employment with Cisco for defined periods of time.

U.S. employees are eligible for paid time away as described below, subject to Cisco’s policies:

• 10 paid holidays per full calendar year, plus 1 floating holiday for non-exempt employees

• 1 paid day off for employee’s birthday, paid year-end holiday shutdown, and 4 paid days off for personal wellness determined by Cisco

• Non-exempt employees** receive 16 days of paid vacation time per full calendar year, accrued at rate of 4.92 hours per pay period for full-time employees

• Exempt employees participate in Cisco’s flexible vacation time off program, which has no defined limit on how much vacation time eligible employees may use (subject to availability and some business limitations)

• 80 hours of sick time off provided on hire date and each January 1st thereafter, and up to 80 hours of unused sick time carried forward from one calendar year to the next

• Additional paid time away may be requested to deal with critical or emergency issues for family members

• Optional 10 paid days per full calendar year to volunteer

For non-sales roles, employees are also eligible to earn annual bonuses subject to Cisco’s policies.

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components, subject to the applicable Cisco plan. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

• .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

• 1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

• 1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and

• Once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
