This is the team that designs and maintains the cloud services and infrastructure that drive reliable video streaming, video exports, and cloud storage for global retail partners, ranging from gas stations to large-scale fitness chains. As a member of this team, you will play a primary role in scaling these services and shaping the technical strategy that empowers our customers to optimize their mission-critical physical security operations, ensuring 24/7 system availability.\nYour Impact\nArchitect & Scale: Build and maintain robust services for cloud video streaming, exports, and cloud video storage.\nAPI & Backend Design: Design and implement high-performance APIs and backend services integrated into the Meraki Dashboard.\nCloud-Native Engineering: Develop scalable solutions on AWS with a rigorous focus on high availability, fault tolerance, and system performance.\nFull-Stack Agility: While your primary focus is backend engineering, you will demonstrate the versatility to contribute across the full stack, including UI components and firmware interactions as needed.\nEnd-to-End Ownership: Own your services from design through deployment, including comprehensive testing, instrumentation, and production observability.\nLeadership & Incident Management: Drive the resolution of complex production issues, lead post-mortems, and author root-cause analyses to improve system resilience.\nStrategic Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers and partner teams to define requirements, architecture, and long-term project roadmaps.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.\nExperience in production Go, TypeScript, or an equivalent statically-typed programming language; and in a scripting language like Ruby (preferred) or Python.\nExperience in backend software including REST-ful API design and relational databases.\nExperience with distributed systems, microservices architecture, and container orchestration (Kubernetes).\nExperience applying AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate velocity and code quality.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFull-stack development experience, specifically with React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems.\nDemonstrated experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).\nDomain expertise in video streaming protocols (RTSP, HLS, WebRTC).\nAdvanced experience with AWS services (Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB) and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform).\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:\n.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;\n\n1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;\n\n1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and\n\nOnce performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.\n\nFor non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay 0% up to 125% of target.
