If you’re excited by large-scale technical challenges and shaping the future of identity across global products, this is the team for you.\nYour Impact\nAs the Leader of Software Engineering for Platform Identity, you will lead a team of talented engineers in building the next generation of identity services that underpin Splunk and Cisco products. You will define and execute the team’s technical strategy, drive architectural direction, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and highly available identity solutions. You will mentor engineers, foster a culture of innovation and inclusivity, and guide the team through complex cross-functional initiatives. You will partner with product, architecture, and executive stakeholders to prioritize work, remove blockers, and ensure alignment with broader company goals. Success in this role means elevating technical excellence, enabling seamless identity experiences for millions of users, and delivering breakthrough improvements in platform security.\nMinimum Qualifications\nSignificant professional experience in software engineering leadership, managing and developing high-performing engineering teams.\nProven track record of driving technical strategy, designing complex distributed systems, and delivering large-scale engineering initiatives.\nExperience leading agile development teams and managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across engineering and executive leadership.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading teams that have successfully applied AI/ML within platform, identity, or security products.\nBackground in large-scale platform integration or migration programs, particularly in the IAM space.\nFamiliarity with IAM offerings from major cloud providers (AWS IAM, Azure AD, Google Cloud Identity).\nDeep technical expertise in identity and access management (IAM), including protocols such as SAML, OpenID Connect (OIDC), and OAuth 2.0.\nStrong understanding of authorization frameworks such as RBAC and ABAC, and user provisioning via SCIM.\nExperience leading geographically distributed teams.\nSoftware engineering experience / understanding programming / knowledge at least one of programming languages.\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond.
