The Solutions Engineer is a customer-focused technical sales professional who ensures that technical information and guidance is provided to the customer, delivering meaningful business outcomes based on Cisco’s product and services portfolio. The SE will partner with our Account Executives in a pre-sales technical function, showcasing Cisco solutions, providing customer presentations, performing technical demonstrations, creating bills of materials, and running proof of concept activities. The SE will partner, consult, influence, and design solutions to allow the customer to meet their desired outcomes. In addition to technology aptitude and the ability to learn quickly and stay current; the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation, and troubleshooting skills should evoke passion and confidence. \nResponsibilities:\nOwning the technical plan for your territory aligned with the Industrial IoT Account Executive (EA)\nSupport EA’s and account teams on new opportunity development while contributing to the technical account plan with a blueprint of the customer’s digitization journey\nCommunicate and educate generalist teams on key technical solutions, vertical designs/architectures, new product introductions\nMaintains a community of champion solution engineers for continued enablement for scaling while influencing territory representation with the industrial IoT business entity.\nDesign and apply technical solutions and architectures working closely with the portfolio SE’s\nDocumenting and best practice sharing of industry vertical use cases \nSolution led selling based on Industrial validated designs\nDeliver demo’s, proof of concepts and proof of value directly to customers or working with partners and/or the Cisco CX organization\nBuild strong competitive technical expertise to support RFPs for differentiation\nManage a comprehensive personal demo environment to build skills, test solutions as well as helping portfolio sellers and partners to build similar capabilities\nSupport technical seminars and enablement activities across EMEA to drive IoT sales campaigns\nWork with CXC, innovation centers, etc. teams to expand their Industrial IoT capabilities for customer facing demonstrations\nDrives/influences roadmap discussions with Industrial IoT Business Entity (BE), based on territory requirements; manages Aha! process.\nWorks with customers and the Industrial IoT BE to encourage Early Field Trial (EFT) participation and feedback.\nContinuous self-development for technical and vertical excellence\nBe a technology solution consultant, based on your rare industrial skillset\nLeverage innovative approaches to address common industry problems, and build creative solutions aligned to key customer outcomes\nCaptivate and hold engaging, dynamic and technology-centric workshops designed to motivate customers to a solution architecture approach\nPresent and participate at customer and industry events, and symposiums\nEmbrace Cisco certified AI tools to help augment, scale and differentiate Cisco from competitors. \nLanguages Spoken\n\nBeing fluent in English\nBeing fluent in Dutch is highly desirable\nMinimum Qualifications & Experience\n\nBachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Computer), Computer Science, or a related technical field. Master's degree is a plus.\n5+ years of industry-related experience \nAs an Industrial Solution Engineer, you should have a good understanding of industrial applications such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc. and industrial protocols such as DLR, PRP, HSR, PTP, IEC61850 including experience on industrial architectures such as the Purdue model.\nKnowledge of Cisco's Industrial Networking, Security and Network Automation & Management solutions \nExperience in MPLS, SRv6, SD-WAN, SD-Access, REP, Micro-segmentation, VPN, PQC, LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi is essential\nStrong field sales experience combined with hands on technical experience\nExperience working in multi-cultural environments\nExperience presenting to large Executive level audiences\nExperience preparing high impact demos and workshops\nExperience as overlay sales professional\nFunctional understanding of AI concepts and tools\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nCCNP, CCDP or CCIE certification preferred\nGood communication and presentation skills\nFamiliarity in at least one relevant programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, C++, Java).\nExperience with cybersecurity principles in industrial control systems e.g. IEC62443.\nCustomer relationship building skills \nPre-sales experience preferred\nExperience in working on industry domains such as Utilities, Manufacturing, Transportation, Oil & Gas, Mining, Defense would be beneficial\nWhy Cisco?\nAt Cisco, we’re revolutionizing how data and infrastructure connect and protect organizations in the AI era - and beyond.
