Applications Development Senior Manager

We are seeking a Senior Application Development Manager with a strong Development background & DevOps Engineering to build Fraud Detection & Analytical Platform across Payments. Requires deep expertise in Java, Spring boot framework, Restful microservices, MongoDB/Oracle, real-time messaging systems like Confluent/Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, and modern CI/CD pipelines, combined with a solid understanding of Payments systems and financial risk management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Application Development

• Architecture & Design: Lead the architectural design and development of high-throughput, low-latency Java Microservices tailored for real-time fraud detection and analytical scoring.
• Integration Rails: Establish secure, resilient, and high-performance integration rails with Internal/External Fraud Risk scoring platforms and credit bureaus.
• Messaging & Event-Driven Architecture: Architect and implement robust messaging solutions utilizing Kafka for real-time event streaming /IBM MQ for reliable enterprise message queuing.
• Code Quality & Standards: Set and enforce high standards for code quality, security, and performance through rigorous code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to enterprise security standards.

2. Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Engineering

• Infrastructure: Lead the design, provisioning, and management of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS/Snowflake cloud environments)/ OpenShift Clusters for application deployment and to support analytical workloads from Vendor.
• CI/CD Pipeline Automation: Establish, optimize, and maintain end-to-end CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, secure, and automated deployment of fraud detection services.
• Resilience & Scalability: Implement containerization and orchestration strategies (e.g. OpenShift, EKS) to guarantee high availability, auto-scaling, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Observability & Monitoring: Set up comprehensive logging, tracing, and monitoring frameworks to proactively identify and resolve system bottlenecks.

3. Team Management & Stakeholder Engagement

• People Leadership: Manage, mentor, and grow a cross-functional team of Java Developers, DevOps Engineers, and Integration Specialists.
• Agile Delivery: Drive agile development methodologies (Scrum/Kanban), ensuring timely delivery of project milestones and continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary technical liaison for senior leadership, external vendors, and Business/OPS partners regarding fraud technology initiatives.

4. Domain & Soft Skills

• Payments Knowledge: Strong understanding of payment processing rails (e.g., ACH, Wires, DFT, Instant Payments).
• Fraud & Risk Domain: Prior experience building fraud detection, AML (Anti-Money Laundering), or risk-scoring systems in a banking or fintech environment.
• Analytical Mindset: Experience deploying machine learning models or analytical scoring engines into real-time production environments.
• Leadership: Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and team-building capabilities.

5. Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 4+ years in technical leadership or engineering management role.
• Proven track record of working in a DevOps-centric development environment with hands-on experience building cloud infrastructure.
