Banking: IGS : Business Manager : MISG - Vice President
The Banking Support Lead Analyst is a senior role within the Banking team, responsible for the expert execution of a variety of support functions to ensure team efficiency and effectiveness. The overall objective is to provide specialized, reliable, and high-quality research support to key banking transactions.
About the Team
Mumbai Information Services Group (MISG), provides essential information and research support to our banking teams across the globe. The group is a key partner to our investment bankers, helping them with research for pitching and executing major M&A and financing deals.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced leader to spearhead the evolution of our Information Services Group, advancing beyond traditional research to deliver high-impact analytical insights that drive investment banking transactions. A key component of this role will be leveraging AI to augment the team's research capabilities, enabling more sophisticated analysis and greater efficiency in supporting our banking teams globally.
Your Responsibilities
- Oversee Research & Analysis Delivery: Direct the team in producing in-depth company and industry analysis, including business profiles, competitive landscapes, market sizing, and trend analysis to support client pitches and live transactions.
- Enhance Financial Data Analysis: Guide the team in gathering and interpreting financial data to support valuation analysis, including comparable company analysis ("trading comps"), precedent transaction analysis ("deal comps"), and discounted cash flow (DCF) inputs.
- Drive Strategic Change: Develop and execute a strategy to move the team's work "up the value chain." This means finding new ways for the team to provide more complex, analytical insights.
- Innovate with AI and Technology: Spearhead the use of AI and other technologies to improve our research capabilities and re-engineer our processes for better efficiency and service.
- Collaborate Globally: Build strong relationships with senior investment bankers and other leaders in our offices worldwide. You'll work to understand their needs and ensure your team is providing the best possible support for their deals.
What We're Looking For in a Candidate
We're seeking a leader with a unique blend of skills and experience:
- Investment Banking Knowledge: You should have a good understanding of investment banking products and the current M&A environment.
- Process Improvement Mindset: We need someone who can analyze our current workflows and find opportunities for process re-engineering, especially by leveraging AI tools.
- Global Team Leadership: You have experience managing a functional team, ideally one that works across different shifts and global offices.
- Client-Focused: A strong desire to improve the quality and impact of the services provided to our investment bankers will be a huge plus.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive experience in banking, finance, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong understanding of financial markets and concepts
- Commitment to maintaining data accuracy, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
