Citi is one of the largest banks in the world, tracing its lineage to the City Bank of New York founded in 1812 and taking its modern shape through the 1998 merger that created Citigroup. Its most distinctive asset is a cross-border payments and treasury network unmatched by any competitor, moving trillions of dollars a day for multinational corporations, governments and other banks across roughly ninety countries. Alongside that institutional franchise it runs markets and investment banking, wealth management and a United States personal bank, and has spent recent years simplifying itself by exiting consumer operations across Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Citi Commercial Bank partners with mid-sized companies across a broad range of industries, helping them grow, expand into new markets, and navigate increasingly complex business environments - and as a Client Onboarding Senior Analyst, you will be at the center of that experience. In this role, you will own the end-to-end onboarding and account opening process for new and existing client relationships, coordinating across multiple functions to deliver a seamless first experience with Citi. Your ability to manage competing priorities, drive accountability, and maintain rigorous attention to detail will directly shape the quality and speed of every client onboarding you lead.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding and account opening process for new client relationships, ensuring each engagement is completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standard of client experience.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between clients and internal banking teams throughout the onboarding lifecycle, maintaining clear and consistent communication at every stage.
  • Complete client risk profiles and relationship updates using Citi's onboarding platforms, ensuring all documentation received is current, accurate, and compliant with applicable policies.
  • Coordinate with KYC teams, the Account Opening division, and product partners to ensure onboarding requests are processed in a timely and well-sequenced manner.
  • Identify and escalate risks, remove process obstacles, and monitor open items to maintain momentum across each onboarding engagement.
  • Analyze existing onboarding processes and systems to surface improvement opportunities, contributing to initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce delays, and enhance the client experience.
  • Assess risk at each stage of the onboarding process, ensuring decisions reflect sound judgment and full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Required qualifications & skills

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in client onboarding, operations, project management, relationship management, or a comparable client-facing role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines, priorities competing demands, and deliver results under pressure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build credibility with both client contacts and internal partners.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly when reviewing, collecting, and validating documentation and client information.
  • Proven ability to coordinate across multiple teams and functions to drive activities through to completion within defined timelines.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a track record of identifying process gaps and taking initiative to address them.
  • Demonstrated interest in operations and compliance, with a clear understanding of the importance of regulatory adherence and risk management in a banking environment.

Beneficial skills & qualifications

  • Licensing in Series 7, 63 and 65, or 66 is an asset, though not required for this role.
  • Experience gathering, reviewing, or coordinating client documentation in banking, financial services, legal, consulting, accounting, insurance, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with corporate legal entity structures and business documentation requirements.
  • Project Management certification such as PMP, CAPM, or PRINCE2, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Degree or diploma in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
  • French language skills are considered an asset.
