Position Summary
The Technology Corporate Banking Analyst / Senior Analyst supports relationship management, transaction execution, and strategic advisory efforts for Citi's Technology Corporate Banking clients. The role focuses on delivering corporate finance insights and tailored financing solutions to leading global technology companies. The Analyst will develop client presentations and financial analyses, including capital structure assessments, liquidity reviews, debt capacity analyses, peer benchmarking, and industry trend analysis, while partnering closely with dedicated Credit Underwriting and Risk teams throughout the credit approval process. The Technology Corporate Banking group manages relationships with many of Citi's largest technology clients and emerging industry leaders. The Analyst will work closely with Associates, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managing Directors to deepen client relationships, identify business opportunities, and deliver integrated solutions spanning lending, Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS), Markets (FX), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), and Investment Banking products.

The role also provides opportunities to mentor and develop junior Analysts, serving as a key contributor to both client deliverables and team development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Coverage & Technology Sector Advisory
- Prepare high-quality client presentations, relationship reviews, executive briefing materials, and meeting preparation documents for senior management and client interactions.
- Conduct corporate finance analyses, including capital structure assessments, debt capacity analysis, liquidity reviews, funding strategy evaluations, and capital allocation considerations.
- Monitor technology sector developments, competitive dynamics, and strategic trends, including M&A activity, AI adoption, software business model evolution, cloud transformation, cybersecurity developments, and digital infrastructure growth.
- Perform industry research and peer benchmarking across software, IT services, hardware, communications technology, and related subsectors to support client discussions and strategic recommendations.
2. Financial Analysis & Modeling
- Develop and maintain financial models used in evaluating client performance, capital structure, liquidity, and financing alternatives.
- Analyze historical financial results, forecasts, recurring revenue trends, cash flow generation, leverage metrics, and key operating performance indicators.
- Conduct sensitivity analyses and scenario testing to support financing recommendations and client discussions.
- Evaluate financing structures and potential impacts on credit metrics and financial flexibility.
3. Credit & Risk Partnership
- Partner closely with Credit Underwriting and Independent Risk teams to support credit approval processes, annual reviews, and transaction underwriting.
- Assist in preparing company overviews, industry analyses, transaction rationales, and supporting materials for internal credit discussions.
- Monitor portfolio developments, including quarterly performance, credit metrics, covenant compliance, and sector-specific developments affecting clients.
- Help coordinate information requests and due diligence efforts across internal stakeholders.
4. Transaction Execution & Cross-Product Coordination
- Support the execution of syndicated loans, revolving credit facilities, bilateral loans, and other financing transactions.
- Coordinate with product partners across Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS), Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Markets, FX & Rates, Investment Banking, and Equity Capital Markets (ECM) to deliver integrated client solutions.
- Assist with transaction processes, including due diligence, documentation review, approvals, closing activities, and post-closing requirements.
- Support KYC, AML, and onboarding activities in coordination with operations, legal, compliance, and credit partners.
5. Teamwork, Leadership & Development
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior Analysts on financial analysis, presentation preparation, and transaction execution processes.
- Review work product for quality, accuracy, and consistency while helping to maintain high team standards.
- Collaborate effectively with bankers, product partners, underwriting teams, and support functions across the firm.
- Contribute to a high-performing team environment through knowledge sharing, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Rrelevant experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Credit Analysis, Leveraged Finance, Commercial Banking, Corporate Finance, or related financial services roles.
- Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance, capital structures, financial statement analysis, and credit fundamentals.
- Demonstrated experience building and interpreting financial models, evaluating financing alternatives, and analyzing company performance.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate financial concepts clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Demonstrated teamwork, professionalism, and client focus.
- SIE, Series 79 and 63 licenses within 150 days of joining.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting technology sector clients or demonstrated interest in technology industry trends and business models.
- Familiarity with syndicated lending, debt capital markets, treasury management solutions, and other corporate banking products.
- Experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders and managing portions of transaction execution independently.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline with a strong academic record.
